various shades of dune

There are so many variations in color to dune its driving me crazy Does this color change shades this drastically in person depending on sun/shade or does the camera have something to do with it. Im really hoping the 2nd pic of the oscar mike is NOT the shade of dune in person. It looks to pale for my liking.

It does change shades in person but I've never seen it look like photo 2 (freedom).

Don't know if anyone has said anything, but dune is now on the build your part of the Jeep site. Oh, so is the 10th, and the price is nuts.

I hate how it takes them so long to update... They still show colors that haven't been order able for months and don't even state they aren't factory orderable.

And they forgot to add Dune to the list of colors for the Moab Edition. Not that it matters because you can't order them anymore anyways. But it'd still be nice for those who want to search the dealers through jeep.com

Just picked up my dune JKUR this weekend that i ordered blind, very happy with the way it turned out, In my opinion it looks closest to pic 5 above.

Also got it with the premium top which I highly recommend, much nicer than standard top and comes with tinted windows as well.

I got my dune on 2/25/13 and it blew me away. The color is awesome. It's like tan on steroids! It's bright and it pops. Glad I ordered this color because it's the best one in 2012/2013 so far!

Well my speakers sound great (I swapped them for Polks). The stock speakers for the upgraded Alpine system are....ok I guess lol.

Mine is in the shipping stage! I'll be able to see this color in person for the first time finally!

I think I'll like the color no matter what. I saw commando green and I thought it maybe took itself too military/serious for my taste. I live in the south so I didn't want someone to confuse me for one of THOSE guys who always wears military clothing because the army never accepted them.

To each his taste but I also thought the silvers, blacks, and whites were too normal. But then the rock lobster, bright yellow, crush, and gecko were too in your face. And that's how I came to the decision of Sahara Tan.

Since that wasn't available the closest thing to this was Dune. The color reminds me of the toyota's troopys which is a good thing since I'd kill for one of those!

Saw first JK Dune Sport roll by here in MA. I was impressed. Looked great as the snow flakes were beginning to fall. Def more 'tan on steroids' than peanut butter.

I am reserving judgment until I see one in person but I have to say it is quite possibly the ugliest color in the universe in these pics. It looks like peanut butter and Heinz yellow mustard had a baby. Yik. Sooo disappointed in this color and so disappointed that Jeep does not have a Sahara Tan replacement color offering yet.

The color does seem to vary a lot in photos... And it's definitely a unique one that not everyone will like... Dune probably is their "replacement" as its in the same color range... But yea, way different. I love my Crush Orange!

Congrats, Hokie! I'm pulling the trigger in the next few weeks. Unsure of the color, but it's nice to get the waiting done (until you wait more for a build!).

DO IT! My jeep is awesome it rode really well all the way from Michigan to West Virginia, the seats are very comfortable and the headlights are not nearly as bad as everyone makes them out to be IMHO but then again I came from a 99 WJ. Its awesome couldn't stop smiling all the way home and continuously considering leaving the highway to go play in the muddy fields.

Thumbs up It's Finally Here!

Got a call from the dealer today so went and had a look! Will pick it up next week once it's PDId and the mud flaps are on.

I quite like the colour in person, but my iPhone does not record it the way my eye perceives it. It seems "browner" to my naked eye.

Assuming it attaches, Here's a pic. No interior shots as yet, but the two tone dash and tan seats look awesome. So far I have the only Dune Rubicon in Edmonton.

That's one badass jeep. I got almost the same thing, except my rubicon will have the color matched fenders and hardtop. I'm planning on keeping this car forever so I didn't want the black fading effect my LJ had.

Post pics of the interior! I got the same thing, two tone brown and black. Got mine in manual, did you?
