Want To Trade In My Wrangler

Currently I have a 2010 2Dr JK with aprox 24000 miles. Manual, power windows, power locks, AC, heat, cruise. It also has a 2in Rancho Sport lift with 9000xl shocks.

Don't worry, I love my wrangler. I just have found the need to have 4 doors because of my daily life. I want to know what everyone thinks I will get for it. Its in good condition but has two very small dimples on either side from removing the doors :stupid:.

I managed to find a 2008 JKUR with not much more mileage for 21600. I want to get into touch with them about potentially trading it in. What does everyone think I should negotiate to, offer originally?

Nada says about $18 in my area. Those dimples mean its average, provided nothing else is bad. Private party is about 20-21 according to nada so you could always try to private sell it if you'd like

Stupid question since I have yet to remove my doors, but how did you get the dimples (and where)?

If it fits within your budget, I suggest you try for a newer model with the 3.6L.

When you remove an important piece that keeps it connected on the inside, a lot of times people forget to let someone hold it still.. Because when removing that piece the door slides completely open and dings the side of the jeep.. Leaving a small indention.. You'd be surprised how many jeeps have them.

Throw some $30 Rugged Ridge Cowl Covers on there and you just increased the value, son.

Woot! Woot!

I don't have the budget to change my payments at this time. I figured if I was going to get the 3.8 I found one of the better deals.

The "important piece" is the door strap inside the cabin which prevents the door from swinging completely free. If you look at the user manual for removing doors, it warns that after you unhook the door strap from the body hook to be careful and "not allow the door to swing fully open as the mirror may damage the paint".

The reality is that the mirror hits the cowl and typically puts a dent that looks like a golf ball hit it. Look around at any other JK's in parking lots and you're sure to find one that has the ding.

Don't worry....you will have some soon enough. If you remove your doors, it is not a matter of "if" you will get them, it is "when" you will get them.
