Anyone have the Warn Elite rear bumper model 89525 on a 2012 or newer JK...if so what do you think of it? Any pictures would be nice....

I haven't seen one in person yet. There are pictures on the Warn site. And my local 4X4 center has one on the back of the Managers JKU up there that I got a glance at from across the parking lot. It was just put on last week. I need to get back up there and get out and examine it. If I do I will post you some picture of it. Maybe I will run up there today. I think that they are just now starting to arrive at the dealers. Thats probably the first one he has gotten in too.

I have not seen one in person yet either. I just can not make myself like that bumper from the pictures. I wish they would have wrapped it on around under the fenders. They front elite bumpers is one of the best looking bumpers out there. I am saving up to order it. I just can't get the rear to match. I hate to mount the front elite and rear mopar off road bumper.

Didn't make it over there today. Set in a heavy rain all afternoon. But I will get over there tomorrow. If he's working I should get a good look and some pictures.

I like it from the pictures myself. Simple and effective. And I already have the front. However I was hoping it replaced the stock Receiver. But the pictures look like it goes around it instead. Not sure.

I too wish they would have wrapped it around to match up with fenders. That's what kept me from going with that one. I ended up going with a Rampage Recovery rear bumper. Looks like it has a nice complete fit.

Here are photos after install

I just completed the install of this bumper. It wasn't the hardest, but not easy either. Having to feed bolts through the frame and drill the frame as well.

My spare tire rubs on the bumper pretty bad. I will have to look into a solution. This bumper comes with a swing arm, but I didn't order.

Let me know any questions. Click image for larger version

You can see the plug on right which is where the tire arm would attach

I think it looks quite nice. The one I am trying to get to take pictures of is also a White Wrangler. But he has the Tire Holder on his.

Let me ask you this, the receiver is the stock one? It doesn't come with the 2" receiver hitch built in?

You are correct, that is the stock receiver hitch. You don't have to remove it for install. Only thing I removed was the OEM bumper and OEM tow hook.

Gotcha. Thanks for that. I was kind of hoping it would be a built in but I guess one can't have everything can one?

So you recommend going ahead with the Tire swing then? Those are 33" tires on there? And they hit slightly?

May I ask where you found it and what the street price is on these already?

Can you get shots of where the tire mount is supposed to be? Is the plug made of plastic?

I have a TF tire carrier so I wasn't gonna get the tire swing

Did it come powdercoated?

thanks! Its between this or the PSC rear

To answer a few questions:
The tires are stock 32". The spare rubs on the top of bumper now.

The plug is rubber, not plastic.
Here is a close up of the plug

Since the tire rubs on the top of the new bumper does that also mean you need to slam the tailgate to get it to close properly? Also is it wearing the finish off of the bumper or do you think it will over time? I was planning on getting this so it matches my front but that could be a deal breaker. I had no plans to also buy their over priced tire mounting system since it appears that it will block even more of the back window and further limit visability out of it.

For the Price the bumper and carrier cost, about $1600 from what I have heard, the Bestop Highrock Rear Bumper and carrier makes more sense. It also opens with the tailgate has a nice finish level and comes to market around $800. I love my Warn elite series front bumper, but I couldn't justify the cost they wanted for the rear.

I think the price will sort itself out once they are commonly available. Shouldn't be nearly that much if they want to compete.

Bestop 42934-01 - HighRock 4x4™ Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited - Quadratec

the only down side on the High rock for me is it does not allow use of the factory receiver. It includes the hi lift mount (extra $100 for Warn), a CB antenna mount, and a fire extinguisher mount. I plan to call about an option to use the factory hitch.

I resolved the issue by installing the tire rack as well. Tire rack mounts to the bumper but attaches to the tailgate for swing purpose. Here are photos. Tire is a 35.

I picked up a Warn Elite rear on ebay this week, the only problem is that they do not have the mounting instructions. I have contacted Warn and yet to have received a reply as I need them to make sure the installation is done properly. Any chance anybody here has them and could scan and e-mail me them?

It looks like you have a 3rd Brake Light assembly installed. Did it come with the Warn Rear Tire Carrier?

the 3rd brake light extension was part of the tire carrier, not part of the bumper. You need to buy wiring to extend the wire yourself, that is not included.

Salty,

I'd scan in for you if i wasn't in India for the next 3 weeks. If you still need, I will get copy end of month.

Thanks, I ended up contacting Warn and they e-mailed them to me, great customer service.

I now need to purchase the tire carrier as I have put on 35's. Does anybody know how much of a project it is to install the tire carrier once the bumper is on? Just wondering if the bumper will now need to be removed.

Anyone have trouble with alignment when installing the Elite Rear? I'm working on it right now and it's about 1/8in off (higher on the driver side). I know it's not much, but it's gonna drive me NUTS if I don't get it just right. Please let me know if you've run into this and how you fixed it. The instructions for the rear are useless, especially if you're not using the Warn tire carrier. I finally got everything in the right place, but can't get the last little bit of tilt out of it.

ok.. Found my issue. In case anyone else runs into this: When installing the passenger side frame bracket, there are 2 adjustment bolts that screw into the top of the bracket. The instructions describe these as alignment screws to fix the alignment of the rear tire carrier to the bumper/carrier hinge bracket. I was not installing the rear tire carrier (Using the Teraflex hinged...) so I figured I'd forgo installing these bolts. Wrong move. You'll want to use these to raise (or adjust) the passenger side frame bracket in order to level out your bumper. Install the adjustment bolts and make your adjustments before final tightening of your main frame bracket bolts. My guess is that some may need it, some may not. Mine did.

Just finished installing:
Warn Elite Front bumper w/push bar
Warn Elite Rear bumper
Warn Zeon 10-S
Teraflex leveling kit (2" front - 1" rear)
Tomorrow:
Teraflex Hinged Tire Carrrier
