Warn powerplant 9.5

I have an opportunity to buy a used warn powerplant 9.5.

I was looking at a Superwinch talon 9.5i their web sight stats it weights 92 lbs

The warn powerplant 9.5 says it weights 100 lbs. anyone have this to confirm weight? Only 8 lbs more. At first I did not even consider the powerplant 9.5 because I though it would weight a ton. OK 125 lbs. Few questions about it for those who have it:
- can you put a synthetic line on it cut down on some weight?
- The web says new and improved winch/ air compressor. did it come out an they changed the winch. or is this just because the power plant is new?
-Also what to look for when buying a used winch. purchased last Sept.
-I want to hook it up to battery and pull line out and reel in?
- air down a tire and fill up?
Next to this anything else? It is now mounted on anything now he sold his jeep

Any one have pic of the powerplant 9.5 in a sunkin winch mount bumper. Or on any bumper?

I am waiting on the jcr vanguard bumper:

Thanks. Been asking a lot of questions. First winch. Light to mild off roading but a lot of it is just my jeep and some fiends.

This is with steel cable now. I would get synthetic later. The superwinch is like 65 with synthetic. So i assume the warn would loose the same amout and only be like 73 lbs. So not too bad for what you get. I just don't like how tall it is but with a sunkin mount it might be ok. It is a great deal on the power plant.

will warn still honor the warranty if I am not the orignal owner?

I thought the same thing when I first saw it. but only an 8 lbs difference and you get a air comperssor Not bad. my little portable pep boys air compressor weights about 4 to 6 lbs so not bad.

warn told me that 100' of 3/8" steel cable for my 10,000 VR was just over 24lbs heavier then the synthetic spydura line for for the same winch. I emailed Warn and that was the reply I got.

Really! I am getting old, but a couple years ago I removed my steel and replaced with synthetic. I weighed it, and was surprised that it wasn't even close to all the horror stories, of how heavy it was. Thought it came in at the 12-15 pounds. My mistake I guess.

I'm curious about this... Looking at new ones and considering swapping out for synthetic lines and adding wireless accessory.

You have to be careful if you are going to put it in a sunken mount. Not all bumpers will take it, then you have the issue of it sitting off to one side sometimes and you cant easily spool the line back up on the whole drum.

From my experience, they are big, ugly, and the air sucks. I don't care what the numbers and charts say about flow rate. Dont see a whole lot of them anymore.

I like mine. It is mounted low in a warn elite bumper. Both the air and the winch meet my needs. I think it looks fine.

I like my PowerPlant! I did have an issue early on with the 10a fuse holder. The fuse holder was not sealed and the Nebraska winter road stuff corroded the holder. I've never seen anything like the holder corrosion before, but dielectric grease will prevent the problem. I had to replace the corroded holder.

Only steel cable for me... I'd have had to replace a plastic rope by now a couple times if my cable wasn't steel.

Bumper is Metalcloak's "framebuilt" design.
