Water in back storage compartment

Wondered if anyone else is having this issue? Inside the back storage compartment water is pooling. I have had the hard top on and not spilled anything in the back. I noticed there are some plugs in there, but was afraid of lots of dust and dirt getting in if i pulled them, as I travel a lot of gravel roads. Finally drilled a 1/8 inch hole in the corners of where the jack is and in the bottom of the storage area. Seems to help the jack area a lot but carpet in the storage area is still always wet. Any other solutions? I can't store much back there without it being soaked so it makes it pretty worthless. Thanks.

I don't know about JK's...but when we first got our 03 Rubicon, the back area was always drenched...not a leak anywhere OR any rain....and it was going through windshield washer fluid like crazy. Finally...duh...we realized the water in the back smelled like windshield cleaner, and found the hose that plugged into the hardtop for the rear window had pulled off and fallen down...and with the help of gravity-it was draining the tank up front and filling the back area! Problem found, solved, and fixed...plugged it in SECURELY....maybe this could be your problem?

There is a vent behind your spare tire carrier. It has rubber flaps over it to help to keep water out but if you use a carwash I could see how a directed spray could go right in. Just a thought.

Nickbiers, did you ever figure out what the issue was?? I'm having that same problem with water in my back storage compartment...
