Water in the Floor!!!

When I purchased my 2010 Sport two days ago, I noticed there was some water in the floor board...looked like the dealer cleaned the carpet. I dried it up and used a shop vac to get the rest of the water up. I left the floor mat out and drove around...it stayed dry. I picked up my girlfriend, and she put the mat back in. We drove about 30 minutes, and the damn thing was wet again. I'm thinking it's condensation build up.

Any suggestions? I am taking it to the dealer on Tuesday morning....kind of curious to see what they say.

They should replace the door seals on both doors upfront with upgraded seals. My 2010 JK U had wet floors and they replaced them a few weeks ago. Then they had to readjust them a few days later.

I did the touch less car wash yesterday and no leaks so they work.

Well the thing is that I dried all the water up....even used the shop vac on the underside of the carpet, and it was pretty much dry....it was 80 here today with no rain. Left the mat out and it was fine...put the mat back in, and now it's wet to the touch and the back of the mat was soaked. It has to be some condensation, but I don't know how it can be fixed...

The carpet has a padded section that acts as a cushion/insulation. It will hold water for weeks. I tried the same thing with my '07 carpets, (when I had them in), and you could take them out after your efforts, hang them up and watch the water run out of them. You can get the door sills fixed, but you'll need to yank the carpets and let them hang a while in the garage or something. If you do not, they will mold.

BTDT.

Today I smelled coolant in the cab....it might be the heater core dripping, but it's weird that it is not wet to the touch until I put the floor mat down. I guess I will wait and see what the dealership has to say....which is probably not what I want to hear.

Pull the carpet out, let it dry for several days, put it back and see if the moisture returns. I can pretty much guarantee that the dealer is going to tell you there is not a problem. I'd guess that as mentioned above, the carpet pad is still holding water....

The dealer did the water test on the entire Jeep. The passenger door seal was letting water in at the bottom of the door instead of draining off....they ordered a new door seal and did my L34 recall....so it was a pretty good day.

It rained and now the seal around the hardtop window and rear gate is letting water in....sounds like it might be time to rhino line it!!!

F'n crazy, folks cant enjoy a factory interior on a new Jeep and are forced to strip said contents for health and safety reasons as well as copping measures because the rig is poorly designed and assembled. Glad my heep is not to that stage yet.

Coolant smell ocassionally is not uncommon because of the location near the blower motor. No leaks? Then no worries friend
