Water Pump? Idler Pulley? SQUEAKING

Any ideas on this sound? Water Pump? Idler pulley? Would like a guess before taking it to the dealer.

Ignore the video (shaking and stuff) and listen to the fairly audible squeak.

Thank you in advance.

Very common...I had this issue and noticed my coolant level was low right from the factory so I topped it up to the full mark and haven't had the squeak since.

The above may or may not work for you as some have had to take their Jeeps in to get the water pump changed out, but it is common and there are several threads about the issue.

As you've heard (no pun intended) this is fairly common. My '13 would start chirping when it would warm up. Researched here and determined I had the chirping water pump bearings. Took it in to dealer and they replaced it under warranty, no issue. Have had no chirping since.

Chirping Noise is Bad Water Pump Bearings

^x2. Mine started chirping last month, scheduled a visit to the dealership...changed it out, no problem since.

Let us know how it turns out. I had the same issue and same response: water pump. They replaced it at 3,000 miles and I've noticed it came back at about 10,000. Might take it back again.

Sand in coolant biggest culprit! Poor Chrysler quality control! Hopefully your heater coil is not clogged up as well.

Water pump was replaced yesterday. All is quiet now. Dealer immediately said waterpump upon hearing the noise. Said it is a fairly common problem.

The water pump "chirping" is a separate problem from the casting sand in the water jackets of the engine block.Although there may be cases where one of the vehicles with sand in the engine block have had water pump damage as a result of the sand, there is also a separate and unrelated problem with some water pumps, in which the bearings start chirping--sometimes at only 2 or 3K miles. The water pump bearing squeak is much more common, is a known problem (like the casting sand problem is) and is generally fixed under warranty without much discussion.

This sound comes and goes for me, and it can be very faint. I heard it once this past month, and haven't heard it since. It showed up last summer too, but only lasted a couple days. Not about to waste my time with the dealer if they can't replicate the sound. I just don't want the warranty to run out and then the noise rears its ugly head again...got 14k on it now...

Typically low output from your heater or very weak on one side vs. the other. If your heater is blowing nice and hot on both sides, you have good flow through your heater core.

I ask because there seems to be a delay with my heater. when i turn on my heat it takes a few seconds to come out of the vent. other than that i have good and hot flow

Check your coolant overflow tank for sludge in the bottom.
