Water Pump/Thermostat replacement

I'm about to replace my water pump/thermo as preventative maintenance on my 07. Anyone tackle this job? Difficult? Anyone know of someone who posted illustrations of this repair?

just go for it and don't look back. it's how you learn the most. I had no idea what I was doing for all the things I did to my jeep so far and it all made me happy in the end. you can be the first to start a thread with pics and directions for this!

I can understand the idea of replacing the thermostat, but why the waterpump?

I've heard of a lot of water pumps failing at the 30K mile range. I just turned 30K and I wheel out in the dessert in some very rural places. So the parts that are fairly cheap to replace I'll change before they fail and leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere.
