Water resistance and hinge torx questions

Two questions here and the first should be easy. Besides someone picking my locks or just smashing a window to steal my doors, is there a reason to run the torx screws in the door hinges? They're a pain in the ass.

The second one is about water resistance. How vulnerable are the dash electronics to water? If the JK gets stuck in a downpour and say I'm unaware and it just gets blasted, what should I be worried about? Is the steering wheel a liability? What about the stereo? Say the dash does get wet; how's the water routing in there? Will water pool up and soak everything or should it drain out and be fine?

My door bolts have been out for over a year now. No issues.

Mine have been out since the day I bought it. Makes it easier to steal doors but otherwise no issues.

I wonder if insurance would catch on after my 20th set of stolen doors. That should help pay for my upgrades.

Now, what about the water?
