Not many places to leak from, and normally sealed well. I have been in water 4 inches up my doors and didn't take on any water. Hard top or soft? Check the front windshield channel for obstructions that would stop water from traveling to side. If they took the carpet out, I would expect they already checked the floor plugs, there are at least three on each side of the passenger complartment. How about the seat mounts, tight? Are the mirror mounts tight/installed correctly; they are known to hold water which could fill and travel down the door. There could also be an obstruction in the side window seal or channel. Good luck!

Exclamation

Got the same issue on the passenger side. It comes through the top side of the door pannel near the weather seal. Then drips toward the tweater speaker on the dash, rolls down to the floor board.

Basically after reading the time wasted from the members on here with Chrysler Service Depts not fixin, I just took out my carpet, re-installed the floor matts with plastic anchors, and presto,, IM DONE!!!! When I know heavy rain is going to fall, I just put a small dish towel near the floor board on the passenger side. My leak is small, but : before the carpet removal, the water was trapped between the carpet and the metal floor board,,, not good. At least now, it can be monitored , and air is able to dry it out.

I like the look of my jeep without the carpet, looks more like a old WILLY Jeep inside now. If you do remove the carpet and install any type of matts, make sure you install plastic anchors , to stop the movement of the matt. If not the matt could get shoved into the pedals causing an accident.

The plastic anchors could be bought in any automotive retail store.

Could it be a blockage in the A/C causing it to drain onto your floor?

...though it'd be pretty unusual for that to happen in a new Jeep, I suppose.

thanks guys! dont really want to remove the carpets. its brand new havent even taken it on the beach yet. I have seen on here that other people have had the same problem and have said it the wiper cowel. that water gets in there and if the drain is clogged will go into the heater box and run into the car. anyone have this problem? im really thinking of lemon lawing this. dont see any water coming in arond the doors or the roof(soft top). Besides if it was coming in there the top of the floor mat would be wet not the carpet and its happening after the jeep has been sitting, not like i drove through a large puddle. thank you for the input.

I feel you on the new 2010 , not taking out the carpet. Mine is a new 2010 as well. Did not think twice removing the carpet in the entire Jeep. Hope you get it resolved. Already got use to my baby having no carpet. Guess she is a REDNECK...lol

It could be your drain plugs. I know mine have leaked a little when driving in the rain or off roading thru water for a while. If you never use the drain plugs for hosing out your jeep you could always glue them in for a permanent seal. You could always break the seal later with a screw driver. Just use good glue. Definitely not amazing glue tho if you plan to take it off later

I second on the drain plugs. I believe they're located under the carpet beneath the floor mats, and that would explain why there's no water if you don't drive it in the rain. The leak is from below, not above, so if you don't drive and kick up water, there's no leak.

Heck, if there's a lot of water, you might find the plug is missing altogether. That's a simple fix.

Hey there, I'd like to toss a couple other things into the mix.

I've read that somtimes the hardtop isn't on "perfectly" and this can cause a puddle on one side or the other. Removal of the front panels and reinstallation per factory instructions fixes this.

In MY case on my 02 Sahara (I want to keep my carpet too) after replacing the door seal with no change, I checked the actual body seam between the door and windshield. Running my hand up, I found my door was BENT OUT AT THE TOP 1/8 in! My beefy buddy "hugged it" back in to position, no more water!

I'm going to 2nd drain plug check.

However on my TJ '02...there was a recall for an issue like this. The passenger side floorboard will fill up with water. This was due to the a/c and the condensation evaporation release valve. Basically on a hot day with the a/c running and you driving...the evap couldn't run out b/c the valve was strait. The fix was putting an "L" shaped exit valve on instead. I'd assume it would be totally fixed by now though.

I'm going to guess faulty/missing drain plug for you.

My wife's baby, 94 Grand Cherokee Limited...has the same ghost leak problem...and it is the drain plug or hose from the A/C...supposed to let all the water from the air intake drain out, but it plugs up a couple times a year. Her mechanic/shop she takes it to (it is not an offroader, never has, never will) goes in somewhere behind the passenger carpet and hits a drain or something in there with compressed air, blows it out...and that lasts for a couple more months. He gave up trying to fix it, just blows it out as needed for no charge. I even had the cowling removed and permanently glued in 'mosquito netting' cut to shape, to keep all the leaves, petals, bugs, etc. from getting down in there the last time he cleaned it out....on one of my wranglers, can't remember if it was the 2000 sahara or my 03 rubicon-had that leak on the door frame, did the same thing-'bent' the door sash back in by leaning on it and sealed it. Simple fix...but it worked!

Yeah the wet passenger side thing drove me nuts for about 3 weeks. I was living in PHX (ie NO RAIN) and the thing was soaked all the time. Dealer had no clue. Local 4Wheel parts...no idea. Finally on a trail run...fellow Jeeper knew what it was, showed me and emailed me the # for the recall.

I called it a spout, b/c basically it was a 1/2 inch hard tube that pointed from the firewall out towards the front. Stupid design. It would get junk in it and when moving forward the air would "push" the water back. Once there was enough in the floor mat...it would just "suck" that way.

The dealer put the "L" shaped hard tube, pointing down...never had the issue again. Crazy.

Had the same passenger floor puddle since day one on my '08 JKU. Dealer replaced the passenger door seal with a thicker one. Solved my problem

I have the same year but I notice condendation on the passenger side floor under the thin factory matt. I removed the matt and the floor stayed dry with the ac on, the heat on, and when it rained. I feel that the floor gets hot, and develops condensation. I am inquiring into it further with JEEP.

Yes I have a 2011, 33 miles. Have had No rain for 2 weeks the Pass side is wet ? Running the A/C 24/7 in Florida 83/90 degrees outside. Is there any schematics on the 2011 wrangler so as I could fix it myself hopefully w/out removing it. I have been cleaning these out for years on all my other Trucks,Vans and Cars. Especially on cars where there is no filter and they transport Dogs and Cats ! Thanks
