Weather Tech Mats...Overkill?

Hey everyone. As someone who will probably, at WORST, get a lot of snow, inside the cabin, are weather tech floor mats worth the 130 dollars? I mean 130 is pretty damn steep for two floor mats. I get that they're very precise and well made, but do any of you guys/gals have any recommendations for other brands that cover the same space, washable with a hose, etc? Or are Weathertech mats really worth the money? Like I said... I don't do any off roading so tons of mud, twigs, and what not, most likely won't be an issue.

Yes

I have a set of Weathertechs in all three of my vehicles. They fit perfectly
and clean easily. (and USA made)
Yes well worth the cost especially in Winter
I have found the rubber mats that look like tire treads are a royal pain to clean and always look dirty

I too put weathertech in all my vehicles including my jeep. Mine are going on 66000 miles (2 diff jeeps) and still going strong. My carpet looks new. I live in Montana so lots of snow and muck.

I had weather techs for 11 years in a '97 Tacoma and Husky Liners for 8 years in a '08 Frontier and yes they are worth it. I actually prefer the Huskys and my wife still has a pair in her van.

My current jeep has the factory mopar mats and they are so-so. I did buy the quadratec rear liner for my JKU and I have to say it is really nice. I have only had it a couple of months but if I were buying mats today, they would be the ones for the money.

A lot of people who have weather techs really like them. But that just means all the people that didn't think they were worth the money, in fact, didn't buy them. Mine already had the Rugged Ridge ones in it and I like them. I think they are around $60 for the front set. I currently run with no carpet and just the mats. Heard a lot of people say they like the quadratech/bestop ones too. I like the design better on those but not enough to replace what I already have.

My honest opinion. I wouldn't pay that kind of money when these others are so highly regarded as well. Especially since I haven't heard anyone that have had both say the WTs were twice as good. Not every vehicle has so many choices of good custom fit floor tray liners.

My Wrangler came stock with the slush mats so I figure I might as well use them.

But we have Weathertech in two other family cars. They still look great and hold their shape even after a few years' use in one of the cars. Not to mention that the carpeting underneath is still perfect.

They do cost more, but think about the $20 mats you get at Walmart or Autozone that last a year or so before they look terrible. You could spend $20/year for something that doesn't work very well, or just shell out the cash for the Weathertechs and it'll probably work out to be the same cost depending on how long you keep your Jeep.

I have the Quadratec mats in my Jk. Love them. Check pricing vs weathertec. My wife has weathertec in her car, I can't stand them
I am in the same boat. The Mopar slush mats were included with my Jeep when I bought it, but I purchased the full set (front, rear, and cargo liner) of Quadratec mats in my JKU and love them. My wife has front and rear Weather Tech mats in her car and absolutely loves them, but I hate them. I think both have their pluses/minuses. To each their own, I guess.

The weathertech's are absolutely worth the price. The first thing I bought. I've had a few different brands of tire tread looking mats as well. The weathertech's cover more area, hold more liquid and clean up very nicely. The tire tread looking mats don't cover the sides at all and always look dirty in between the treads. I rarely clean my Jeep, but when I do it's always frustrating to have to spend a half hour or more trying to clean those mats in between the treads. Just to have them still look like they haven't been cleaned in 10 years. Making the inside of my Jeep look like I haven't just spend an hour or two cleaning it. Ya, ya. "It's a Jeep. It's meant to be dirty"... Well when I do take a half day to show my Jeep some love and clean it up, and dirty floor mats are the only thing not clean. It just pisses me off. I'll never buy tread mats again.

Also, I always had a good amount of dirt, rocks, stickers, etc sitting around the outside edges of the tire tread mats and working their way underneath. None of that with weathertech's. They catch everything.

Thanks for the responses guys! I actually have a 50% off coupon through Costco on automative MOPAR parts at the dealer, so I may go for the MOPARS...I'm not thrilled...but I don't want to pass up the 50% off

If you're worried about the price you can usually find a good pair on craigslist. I got front and back for around $110. I kept the factory cargo mat and just flipped it to the rubber side. They take a little getting used to, but well worth the coverage.

P.S. the newer models don't hook into the floor hooks but just rest over them. The rear mats without doors will levitate like they're ready to take flight but don't worry they won't come out!

Thought I'd rez a Weather Tech thread rather than start a new one...

I was just about to place an order for a full set of Weather Tech floor mats ,front to cargo, and than considered my dog. She rides with my 95% of the time including to work (I'm a lucky dude).

I haven't experienced any Weather Tech mats first hand, but considering that its made of that plastic type material would the cargo mat be a bad choice for my dog? Is she going to be slipping and sliding all over the place? If so, any other mat suggestions? Mostly looking for carpet coverage so I don't have to extract all that chocolate lab hair from the carpet, and of course wet/muddy dog coverage as well.

my weather techs are black rubber and not slippery at all, even when wet.
they are thick and heavy and don't move around. my gf has their "liners" in her bmw and they are hard plastic and slippery.would be terrible for your pet... i live near weathertech and you can go there and save a few bucks at the factory... if you look at their website you will see they make several models for most vehicles expensive but will last a long time
