We played this weekend. A pretty easy trail. This wasnt even an obstacle, just a big rock in center of the wash. And yes, we drove over it, not just a poser pic!
I'll play! I spent the weekend camping/off-roading. Got to use my lockers for the first time. Not as tough as the trails Mommy goes on, but this trail took down about 10 Jeeps (out of 200 total vehicles) over the weekend. Really tough conditions.
On a much happier note - I got to use my lockers for the first time. Pretty damn amazing how much help they can be.
I took mine the first time wheeling a little today. Took the family to Michigan for a family thing and got to play a little on my grandfathers land. Most hardwoods with some steep hills and a power line running up and over them. With every seat occupied by my family and the two dogs in back we went off roading. I had a blast, wife was impressed but not enthused, kids liked it and dogs were nervous. 4L with the Auto was great. For slow crawling and steep grades downwards. Barely had to touch the brake or gas. Manual option with the auto was great when on the flats and could use some more speed. Played with the sway bar disconnect and really liked how it handles over uneven ground and low speeds. Can't wait for the next time. Sorry I didn't get any pics was too bus enjoying the ride.
Well, Saturday was a lay around the house, do nothing day.
Sunday was a decent trail ride with 8 Jeeps. Lots of sand, a little mud, and two folks got $318 citations for driving off the trail !
Got to the trails and was the only one there lol. Everyone bailed due to weather and my buddy's tow vehicle blew on the way. But I managed to have an interesting day helping this guy out. He had a flat and the side smashed on his "new" f150.
He didn't know where his jack was located, and didn't know how to use it once I found it for him.
Then he didn't know how to lower his spare tire so I had to show him that too.
But any way, don't be this guy. This is why trails get shut down. He was out the night before alone drinking with a buddy. Took a wrong turn down this huge hill he thought he could go down, hit a tree, some how made it to the bottom and that where I found him the next day. He had no business having his truck where it was. It was hell getting him out
We did a three day camping tour of Bald Eagle State Forest in Pennsylvania this weekend. Friday night the temps dropped to the low-twenties and due to forest fire concerns we were not allowed to have a camp fire..... Trails were a lot of fun, nothing particularly technical, but fun nonetheless.
I spent Saturday exploring in southeastern Nevada. Saw a large herd of wild horses, and lots of good scenery, and explored some ruins from the mining days. The off road portion of the trip was 165 miles long, with a total of about 330 miles for the day. We had a great day, just me and Amy (my weiner dog that rides shotgun).
