Putting my new tera steering stabilizer on today and had the jeep running for a while. Had someone go hard over left and right a few times to make sure i had the stabilizer at the right collapsed/extended length. Well anyways before leaving my driveway i started to smell what smells like a coolant smell. The only reason i noticed it is bc it smelled very similar to when i cracked my radiator in half on my civic when i took out a raccoon. Upon leaving my lot and hitting the road i swear i felt my jeep hesitate and heard like an air "pfft". Two in rapid succesion. Checked under the hood to see if any lines were loose or for any wet spots anywhere. Didnt see any. But the smell was there, more on the right side but not the left. Any way the power steering pump couldve popped a seal or something? The motor did bob on the rpms when it was hard over.... Hope its nothing...

I don't see a power steering pump having any affects on coolant. Coolant is a distinct smell. I would run it looking for drips or steam. Look around the heads and underneath the engine. Follow all lines for drips or trails of coolant. It can be a pita looking for leaks. You can use a paper towel to help follow coolant lines or parts under the jeep looking for wet spots to show up on paper towel. I'd start from the top down. Making sure all coolant lines and caps are secure and tight. Looking around the block and heads for leaking gaskets. Check radiator for holes or leaking. Might have taken a rock or pebble while driving. Watch for any puddles under jeep or even small wet spots near engine bay. Hopefully this helps. It's hard to find leaks.

You can also rent or buy a coolant pressure test kit. It applies pressure into the system to help check for leaks. Or take it to the dealership.

I had checked last night but couldnt locate any fluid. Smell is primarily on the right side. When facing the motor. I do know the overflow is right there. Thinking it could just be fumes from there? Still dosent explain the "pfft" noises i had heard though.

Could be fumes from overflow. That is a possibility. No puddles or drips no leak.
