aawww crap, I never pondered "Island Girl".............lovely, thanks a lot for putting that in my head.
Anywho, I saw another post where someone was suggested getting a hood lock, as well as door locks to prevent theft. Any good sites out there where these items can be purchased?? I've still got about 4-6 weeks before the "Girl" arrives.

Congrats!!!
If you see another wrangler on the road, give them a wave
or if you see a broken down wrangler stop and ask if they need any assistance.

4wd.com and quadratec.com are great sources for parts and will send you free catalogs.

If you are in a "shady" area, yes...consider some type of locks. (google Jeep security and a million things will come up) If you are in a normal suburban neighborhood (as I am) with just minimal, burglaries, vandalism, etc., you would probably be fine...the reason I say this is because I am a new (in the last couple months) owner of a 2 door soft top myself. I was VERY paranoid the first couple of weeks about someone coming in the night and ripping off all my goodies (doors, spare tire, battery, etc)
The only locks I did install were locking lug nuts to keep my spare where it belongs...the paranoia calmed down substantially, since, and I don't really think about the locks any more...You'll see...
It's good to keep your Jeep parked in a well lit area too...perhaps if it's in a dark driveway have some motion lights installed on the nearest building...lighting will go a long way as far as cheap security for your new baby...

Congrats on the new Islander. I wish I could afford one of these to use as a daily driver. As soon as I win the lottery... !

Hood locks aren't a bad investment depending on the area you live & park the Jeep. Otherwise, just don't keep anything in the Jeep that you want to be there when you get back to it. Locks are fine but knives cut fabric & rocks break windows. If a theif wants something out of your vehicle badly enough, they're going to get it no matter how many locks you have on it. Soft tops & windows aren't cheap to replace either.

Congrats on your Islander. Can't wait to see one in my area up close. I have the stock alarm system, wheel locks and a locking gas cap. I just don't like the idea of a kid having easy access to my fuel tank. I really don't feel the need for anything else.

Cool!
I think this might be the first posting I've seen from anyone getting one..

Although the blue looks good and is the standard, I think about the Bright Silver color Islander Pkg whenever I've considered one.

Are you going with the standard Surf Blue ?

Me too.

Welcome to the forum and Jeep ownership.
I think you have to have surfboard with that one.

Unfortunately the dealer I went to wasn't getting the blue one like I wanted. (I wasn't really up for visiting EVERY dealer in the DC/Metro area) So I went with black. Like I said, they were only getting 2, one was black, one was silver. I asked if I could order the blue one and they said it was so limited, that they were only getting 2 out of the 4 they requested.
