The long-awaited white Sahara has finally arrived. My wife went out and watched them take it off the truck. It's nasty with all the road slush and salt from the delivery, but it's on the ground. We'll be picking it up this afternoon.
I am gonna insist on driving it before I do the paperwork. Has anybody ever driven a brand new one in which there was something wrong and detectable? Something that would make you not buy it? If so, what was it that you noticed? Did you end up buying it or passing?
Test drove a 2011 Rubicon manual and it was slow...I think the ECU is set to limp mode until breakin. A buddy bought it and he just disconnected the positive battery cable and touched it to the negative cable for 30 seconds. Resets the ECU and he drove it like he stole it and the ECU learned his driving style after about 50 miles.
Drove it and difference was like night and day.
Check everything just as if you were buying used. Check all the fluids, you never know. Check closely for any dents or scratches that may have happened during transport. They might be hard to find with white.

I agree with Daggo, check for scratches, etc. Transport damage does happen all the time. Your Jeep will be going thru a pre delivery inspection before you buy it. IOD fuse is put in, compass is calibrated, washer fluid topped off, tire pressure checked, and it will probably be driven by a tech to make sure everything is functioning as it should. I tell everyone drive it, make sure it has the options you ordered.
