Well, trading in the Jeep

We really enjoyed this rig. I originally bought it for the wife in July of '10. My oldest son's pickup broke down on him so I gave him my Dodge 1500 98 4X4 extra cab because I have a work truck. I bought the wife the "car of her dreams",an 07 Saturn Sky so I took the Rubi. Now being that I've had a pickup of some kind since I've been 17, I really can't get by without one. I just built and put a down payment on a 2012 Dodge Power wagon ST. Now the waiting game starts. The truck should be be delivered some time in the fall. I wish financially there was someway we could keep the Rubi, but I just can't.

Goodluck. You should contact Hilldweller. He got rid of his Wrangler for a Power Wagon. He's having TIPM issues at the moment.

Great. What year did he get and what is a TIPM?

I meant good luck as in best wishes. I realize it sounded sarcastic when I added in about Bill's current issue. He loves his truck otherwise. Chrysler vehicles in general are having some TIPM issues and they have reportedly sourced a new vendor. TIPM is totally integrated power module. In other words, the brains of the operation.

Ok thanks. I didn't take it as sarcastic. The more knowledge the better.

I hear wives are pulling a pretty penny these days if you find the right buyer!

Would a trailer allow you to keep your Jeep?

Had a change of heart. Decided to keep the Jeep and get the truck too! The trade in offer really was pretty pathetic so we decided to go ahead and keep the Jeep. The Power Wagon came in on Monday and I pick it up tomorrow (Friday) so pretty stoked about that. My oldest sons' pickup needs some repair work so we're gonna let him borrow the Jeep until it's fixed. I plan on retiring in about a year and we have a property in south Florida so the plan is to jiust keep the Jeep there while we do the snow bird thing.

Why not get a JK8 or similiar Wrangler truck kit. Understand they are pricey, but you may be to find a used one and then you could have your cake and eat it too.

What was the pathetic trade offer on the Jeep? I thought Jeep's held value really well, even for dealers. Just curious what they offered.

Paid nearly 40 for it two Augusts ago, has 16,000 miles on it and their offer was 25. This is a Rubicon with EVERY possible option except leather. Looks and drives like new and it's Rescue green. The best color IMHO besides Mango Tango. Being that It's paid off We're just gonna hold onto it.
