Went in to order a 2015 and came out with

an unlimited Rubicon X. Have been looking for a Granite one for awhile and thought they were all gone. In my opinion one of the best colors ever made

Been lurking here for a bit just learning and reading and now just getting my feet wet. So I'll be using the search function and asking lots if questions soon so thanks in advance for all the knowledge this community has to offer!

If your feet are getting wet, there is even a thread about fixing leaks here.

Don't know where you ordered you hitch and harness from, but they are about $50-60 on amazon

Congratulations and welcome to WF! Are you concerned someone might steal your engine?

I'd be more concerned about getting a locking gas cap as the uncovered cap does draw attention to itself.

Either way he is about to begin his mods . . .

A hood lock is also a good remedy for "hood flutter".

I would recommend the Mopar hood lock. It uses your existing ignition/door key.

Since his RX has the Mopar fuel door, the cap being locked or not isn't all that noticeable.

That is a sharp looking Jeep! I really wanted one just like that but I waited too long for a 2014 and couldn't find a 6 speed.

Sick man! I was crushing hard on a Rubi X in Granite, but couldn't find one around so I got my Altitude instead. Enjoy!

beautiful ride! also considered one... soooo darn nice!

i went with the mopar hood lock... it's super awesome, easy install (you just need a heavy duty rivet driver ~$35 on amazon), and as stated above codes to your ignition key. look no further!

Thanks all for the welcome. I am leaning towards the mopar hood lock. Shopping list is getting bigger as I continue reading these forums. Tuffy Security deck enclosure, swap out the sub, rear view camera, and lockpick for now. Was a bit or a car audio guy in my younger years so I have a bunch of JL Audio and MB Quart speakers and JL Audio amps around I may swap out and see if there is a difference.

I bought a used Rubicon and it already had a hood lock that uses the ignition key to open. I'm proud to say in my 3 months of owning this Jeep neither my hood nor engine have been stolen.

I think the biggest culprit is removal of the air dam. My wife's 14 is lifted with 35's, but still has the airdam and there is no flutter at all. I have daystar hood wranglers and the difference in the dog bones is substantial.

Funny you should say that. One of the nicknames I've had is Quick Draw, from the cartoon character because of the similarity of my last name.

I ended up going for the Rugged Ridge. With these bumpers the nuts are internal to the rear bumper so you need to get one that does not have the nuts welded in the hitch.

What should have been a quick 15 minute install for the hitch and wiring harness install turned out to be a bit longer.

I unbolted the 4 bolts from the frame to the bumper, removed the spacer, placed the hitch up to bolt on but 2 of the 4 bolts aren't lining up quite correctly. I now have to drop the bumper and see why it's not lining up.

Nice Color

I ended getting the Rubi Unlimited for a good price IMO! I just put ACE rock rails on mine. Installed a rear camera, just need to get the radio flashed at the dealer. little upset at the price $125, but all the dealers are charging that price, can't get them down.

Making a bracket to fit behind the spare for the camera, its mounted with a temp bracket screwed in!!

I am going to buy the Rubicon X/10A bumpers and put them on, still bring the price under $40Gs

I see you're in the Chicagoland area, check out South Chicago Dodge. I installed the uconnect module and they flashed mine for $62.50. The only place in the area I found that would do it for under $125.

Wait, your dealer is charging you $125 to flash your screen? Where in Chicago are you?

My dealer did it for free...it takes all of 5 minutes to do.

WOW, can't believe Chicago dealers are charging that much for a flash. Insane.

Yep $125 for an hour of labor so they claim. I got that dealer to only charge me for 30 min of labor.
