Went trail riding and.....

I went trail riding up in Michigan a week ago with buddy of mine. Things were going real well until someone offered us the use of their tow straps. Well, that gave us a little more confidence to push the envelope a bit. To make a long story short, we took turns attempting a deep, swampy mud hole. I went first and got stuck. When he pulled me out, backwards, the super strong plastic piece of crap skid plate under the front factory bumper came off. So, what do you all suggest... should I put it back on somehow or leave it off until I get an aftermarket bumper someday that actually is made of something that will not crush from the impact of a moth screaming towards my headlights at night?

Leave it off. It will come off sooner or later anyway.

^^^ That is your ride!!! I didn't know..... love it...... Just got my XHD bumper system with the prerunner bar, haven't install it yet......Can you take a closer pic of the skid plate?

Did you have to adjust the ride height due to any weight addition? I assume you have installed after-market lift/shocks? I wanted to stay stock Rubi 09 if I could, but thought I might need at least a spacer installed for the extra weight of the new front bumper.... Any ideas?

Love the color, mirrors, Army decals & lighting..... really nice & clean!!!

I don't have a close up pic of the skid plate..but downloaded this from Rugged Ridge.. not my Jeep ...(their part number 18003.30)

After I installed the RR XHD front and rear bumpers, I noticed quite some "sag" with the stock suspension.. Then I decided to go with a OME lift, Nitrochargers, JKS track bars and Teraflex lower front control arms to bring the caster back to where I liked it.
Also got rid of that flimsy steering dampener and installed a BDS one..
I don't believe in spacers as you are NOT doing anything towards the spring sagging.. The ride will also be harsher as you are down on the spring compression..However a BB is the cheapest way out..

Here some more pic's of my ride
