Wet Okole Jeep Seat Covers

I will be shortly like many of you be purchasing a new 2012 JKU Sport. I would like leather seats but the cost is a little much to upgrade to a higher level trim as opposed to simply buying aftermarket seat covers. Has anyone had any luck with the Wet Okole Jeep Seat Covers or something similar I know Mopar offers something as well.
(Wet Okole Neoprene Jeep Seat Covers - Quadratec)

Anyone know of any other type of seat covers they have liked?

Cover King is as good and costs a lot less..... Same material as the okoli's. I just replaced my Okoli's with the Cover Kings and am very satisfied. Got'em thru Quadratech........even have "Jeep" embroidered in the head-rest.

Cover King's are also decent - I got the Wet Okole's... Couldn't be happier. Pricey - yep. But the quality is easily seen in the product. It does take a minute to get them, though (more like four weeks) - they make them for the vehicle. I also got the lumbar supports in mine - feels really good off-road, and also helps a ton on long drives. I opted out of the heaters, though - the wires don't seem as heavy duty as the Mopar seat heaters.

That guy's seat covers look pretty nice. I've got Wet Okoles on my TJ, and his look like they actually fit better. Mine are comfortable and not too bad after sitting out in the sun (I mean, they weren't as bad as I had expected them to be). Oh, and the Wet Okoles took what seemed like forever to get!

i just bought the sport and had leather installed. I have katkinz leather slips on my seats. Didn't have to justify upgrading to another trim level and the seats look like factory installed leather. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than the Okole's, but I think it was worth it. I paid right at $900 for my leather in my JKU. That's another option...

I have the Wet Okole's & they are excellent quality, but you will sweat in summer. I still like them & always sit on a beach towel anyway

Are the Cover King's really the same material? They are listed in quadratic as "water resistant" where Wet Okale is listed as "100% waterproof". I am pretty sure there is a difference between the two. I would rather get the Cover Kings as they seem easier to order. (Wet Okale posts seem to say a lot that they take weeks to get.)

Have you ever gotten your seats soaked with your cover king's and been dry?

I am pretty sure wet okole are neoprene just like alot of other covers. neoprene is not water proof. same material used in the WET SUITS divers use. they absorb water.

They do take longer. My step-dad is native born on the big island and knows the folks there. They make each set of covers as one-off orders and are very meticulous in the quality. The set I got took just under 4 weeks to deliver, but the fit and quality of these covers speak for themselves. I don't find them hot at all (as a few people have said). I haven't soaked them yet, but they do say that the layers used in these covers are designed to be water proof - It's actually more than one layer of material, not just a neoprene cover.

Nice seats from what I have heard. I went with Bestop seat covers. they fit pretty tight. Water just puddles up on them which is what I like. They do make you sweat though.

I'm on the Big Island and use my 2011 Wrangler Sport at the beaches. I went with the Smitty Built neoprene $169 for front and rear. The straps for attaching the covers to the seats tend to tear off but so far they're OK for the $.

I used to think this as well, but was then told otherwise.

My understanding is that neoprene--whether in wet suits or seat covers--is, in fact, water proof. Here's another thread where JK'n and Daggo66 cover the issues.

Neoprene is waterproof, however the seams are not.

Did anyone get the back pockets? How do they compare with the OEM back pockets? Can you post pictures of the back pocket?

I was just on Wet Okole website last night and it seems that they upgraded the rear seat pockets from the crappy mesh pockets they would sew onto the back of the seat cover to a good approximation of the OEM Jeep seat pockets. I have been waiting for a set on eBay, but I'm going to buy new now as a result of the change. Sweet!

Does anyone have any experience with the Wet Okole and the OEM seat heater? Will the stock seat heater be able to still warm my buns with a Wet Okole cover over it? ....probably just not quite as good right, given the extra conduction layer?

Thanks!

Hm.. I was looking at the Quadratec page, but the wet okole page has more options. The OEM pocket looks good - I wouldn't want the other one.

I couldn't however, find a Jeep or Rubicon or seven slot grille and headlamp logo in their catalog. Anyone know how I can get a Jeep relevant log on my seats?

I will also echo nitroz680's question above - since I have heated front seats.. Also will the OEM seat heater cause any damage to the Seat cover - like melted / deformed neoprene?

Trek Armor covers are another popular option around here. They're not cheap--about the same as the Wet Okoles--but they're at the top of my list right now. Almost 100% waterproof but breathable, plus molle for extra storage

My Wet Okoles I ordered for Christmas have a mesh packet with a zipper closure. I keep a small laptop in there. Works great.

I love the optional sunglass pockets, too.
