what all will a lift void on my warranty?

planning on lifting it after i get my wheels and tires on. My first ever car with a warranty so im not sure what to expect. Im assuming it will just void what parts i replace.

Your warranty cannot be voided. The only parts not covered will be the ones you replace (springs, shocks, whatever).

For Chrysler to deny you warranty on any other part, they would have to prove that one of your replacement parts SPECIFICALLY caused the failure. In other words, if they denied you coverage on your transmission, they'd have to prove that your lift caused the transmission problem.

Type "warranty" into the search field and read.

For any warranty "voiding" questions, it is helpful to reference the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which is Federal Law under the FTC. It is a good idea to become familiar with and understand the basics of how it applies to an automobile warranty as many dealers will try to tell you "don't do that or it will void your warranty".

Funny this thread came up.......I also asked this same question this week. This was the answer I got back from the dealer here. I'm calling shenanigans and looking at RK and TF kits.

"To not void your Jeep warranty, you do not have to have a Jeep dealer install your lift kit, BUT you have to use Mopar. all other after market lift kits will not be covered.
Changing up your tires to 33'' is no problem at all, but you will need to have your transmission programmed for that size tire.
We added a 2.5in mopar lift and 33'' tires w/ 17'' XD rims to a Wrangler Sport here, and parts and labor added up to $7,000.00. If you use the 17'' rims that you already have, you can save about $1,200.00.
Again, you do not have to have your lift kit installed by a Jeep dealer to keep your warranty valid, just use mopar.

I hope this helps,

Joe"

Partially true. You don't HAVE to use Mopar. Mopar parts would be covered, as opposed to say, TeraFlex.

He means speedometer. I hope. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, here. You can reprogram your own speedo with a $150 Procal from AEV.

$7K? Only one reaction to such retarded nonsense...

As stated above, your warranty cannot be voided, regardless of the lift you buy.

I hope this helps,

Joe"
Thanks for the Jeep, Joe.

BTW, is this thread only for WF members with "7" in their names, or what?

Actually, even Mopar lift parts aren't warrantied by Chrysler. It says so both in the warranty manual that came with your jeep as well as in the Mopar performance parts catalog. Other than the ability to finance the cost along with a new vehicle purchase, there is literally NO upside to a dealer-installed Mopar lift.

I know right.... 7's everywhere.

Yea, I am figuring I will hold onto the suspension warranty for about 1 day. Defiantly going to pick something non-mopar. A ProCal is of-course must.

7K... yea I can do allot with 7K (more than tires and a quality 2.5in lift) Anyway, I just found it interesting.

your jeeps warrany could be voided the moment you put a lift on it.

its just like a cop can pull you over and give you a random reason as to why he wanted too...

Maybe about $2,500-$3,000 in parts. Hmm, that difference seems about the going rate for dealer labor in my experience.

I honestly think dealerships should just be called stealer-ships. only reason I dealt with them is to buy brand new and I won't return unless I need warranty work. 7k for all that? that...is...ridiculous.

I just recently ran into this problem. Dealership installed my lift and did the tires also. Went out ripped driveshaft boot and busted charcoal canister bracket. Brought it in they told me it wasn't covered. Simply said why the hell not yall installed this shit. And they said ok well cover it. No proof of them installing it needed.
