I am of the belief that it is your Jeep and you should make it what you want! That being said, I hate looking at chrome on a Jeep.... With that said, I have chrome wheels. (Purchased for $40 a piece, I want to trash them before I buy new ones.)

I guess I would not call it a douchey upgrade, but it's not what I would do.

I love this decal. Almost pulled the trigger yesterday on ebay!

Meh...
On a Wrangler, lots of blingy chrome. I don't mind chrome on Wrangler's, but obnoxious is obnoxious.

Large chrome rims with low profile tires.

With that said...since it isn't my money. The person I'm telling what not to add to their Jeep is free to (and should) tell me to STFU (that is what I would do).

You sir, are just begging to stir up trouble. Mods are a very personal thing to each individual. Some people like to emulate others and copy the things they like,... others like to do things that are original and make a personal statement. Still others like to make "improvements" on what the factory was unable to do in the first place.

Now to answer your question... and these are only my opinions, and only applies to me, and meant not to offend anyone who disagrees... but you asked... these are douchy mods ... to me.

-The aforementioned Rockstar wheels...
-Any wheels over 18" ( and in some cases including 18")
- tinted marker lights
- Grenade shift knobs
- chrome anything
- "Angry eyes" light covers
- I've got more...

Lets see. I have Led strips underneath and Halo lights. The halos are just for drl, you can't really see them when headlights are on. The led strips do help for off road, but sometimes you Kay wanna look fly.
I hate chrome on a jeep but I understand why some people get them. Actually, I mostly understand why anyone does anything.
I always like the way stock jeeps look except when its mine.

My only real gripe...
4x4 stickers on a jeep

Heavy steel bumpers unless you're one of the very rare true rock crawlers.

With the same caveat that you provided, I second all of these:

Quote:
- tinted marker lights
- Grenade shift knobs
- "Angry eyes" light covers

Sounds pretty retarded considering almost all jeeps have come with 15/16 inch wheels. But sure if you like your "rimz" you keep them!

Keep some lopping shears in your rig for field castrations... I'm seriously thinking about it down here in Houston, where truck nuts are far too common.

Chrome, rock star wheels, headlight insert things that look like small pails cut in half and pushed in, flat fenders on a stock jeep, big lift small tires, tube bumpers, a bunch of stickers

They are pretty terrible. Plus I don't see what they are trying to state. Are they saying their vehicle has balls but no wiener?

I think Truck Norris with his 16" wheels would disagree with you.

But that's an old truck with a completely different style. 16's look good on older trucks like that, especially with 35" tires. I wouldn't put anything less than 17" on my JK though.

To the OP, I say that if you add things to your Jeep that you like and you're happy with it, there's nothing wrong with it. Different people like their Jeep set up in lots of different ways. There is no "standard" that everyone has to aspire to. Sure, adding "useless" bling to a Jeep will get someone mocked by a lot of Jeep people but if they like it, they should do it because it's their Jeep.

Too much chrome but more importantly...aftermarket exhausts. Maybe a confederate flag too.

Dumping half or more of the JC Whitney catalog onto a Jeep.

I think the rockstar wheels just look too heavy and not my taste.

Only one thing annoys me - friggin' lowering kits!!!! Why the f* do people buy the most capable off-road vehicle and then drop it to 3" off the ground. Sorry, but it just doesn't make sense to me at all.

Ok I'm sure that 95% will not agree with me and I am not trying offend anyone .. And maybe it's my age and growing up in a different era .. But I just don't like black rims on a jeep .. Growing up seeing cars when the hub caps fell off and people painted there rims black and it just looked ghetto to me .. I know the jeep is not a car . I don't care for chrome either .. I do however like a meaty tire on a stock rim ... That's just my opinion .. Sorry in advance because I'm not looking to offend anyone
