what are the wires on the door

I have a 2007 jk with non power doors. What do the wires dothat are running inside the black straps? Don't understand what would need power with non power doors?

It also makes the chime when you leave your keys in the ignition and turns off the radio if you leave it on. Previously with the TJ, you had to rig something up on the door latch to keep your interior light off.

I am not so sure I want my doors off with my kids in teh back. I know they sell those tubular doors, but I could never live it down if something went awry!

Unless you think they're going to jump out, the doors are not offering any protection.

I know what he means with kids though. They do the darndest things at times. Maybe just the front doors off and the kids sitting in the back. They will get a kick out of it and will always remember dad driving the jeep with no doors.
