So I just want to say, my apologies if I offended anyone via my attempt at a sign of patriotism. As a family member of 2 former Marines and a sister who is currently serving in Korea I should not have made such a simple but important mistake. A quick search and I understand this. Again, my apologies

And Jerry..."thanks" for the encouraging words

It's not a hobby. It's just knowing how to properly display the stars and bars. While we appreciate your obvious patriotism, your flags are backwards and representing the US in retreat. There is a proper way to display a flag on opposite sides of an object or person. It's the same thing for service members when we wear flags on our uniforms. The stars always lead the bars. That's how I remind my junior Marines to make sure they display it properly as well.

I respect your patriotism, and I didn't write this to be an a$$. The people, offering correction, are only trying to help you out. Your flag decals symbolize the US in a retreat. If this was not your intention, it would be respectful of you to remove or replace them.

For those of us with a military background, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward.

The rule dates back to the Army's early history, when both mounted cavalry and infantry units would designate a standard bearer, who carried the Colors into battle. As he charged, his forward momentum caused the flag to stream back. Since the Stars and Stripes are mounted with the canton closest to the pole, that section stayed to the right, while the stripes flew to the left.

So on the driver' side, the stars should be in the upper left, and on the passenger's side, the starts belong in the upper right.

I installed my new TeraFlex heavy duty adjustable tire carrier and tailgate reinforcement kit. It is really a nice piece of gear. My LT285/70R17 Duratracs arrive tomorrow, too. Nice!

I plan on doing an amber one with my KC lights I just got. Probably in the same location as yours.

Does it glow when off or when on or both?

Here's an important issue…..my D-Rings rattle…….What am I going to do……..?????

Got some Daystar isolators. That solved the up and down rattle but not the side to side. Went to Ace Hardware and walked the store. Found some O-Rings the perfect size for .43 cents.

Another proud Jeep Mod checked off my list.

Yeah. I was drinking heavily when I wrote that and realized my mistake afterward. I still tell my junior marines the stars lead the bars. We marines like things that rhyme. They make it easy to remember. .

Pretty simple. I just removed that plastic A-Pillar cover and drilled two 3/4 inch holes. They slide right through that hole and secure with a nut on the backside.

They only glow when they're turned on. The only downside is that they're VERY bright at night but I still like them better than the rocker switches you typically see on Jeeps. Amber will look good for your switch I actually stole this idea from someone on this site that did the same thing.

Yesterday I placed my order for a Poison Spyder BFH front bumper with Trail Stinger and Shackle Tabs. Now the wait begins...

Edit: I may get started early and cut the crash bar off and have that part done ahead of time.

I have "rock lights" too. It's for night Wheeling. It helps to see where your tires are going. $20 led strips on eBay.
