I backed out of the garage and driveway, hit a massive patch of ice (thanks idiot neighbors for being too stupid to turn your sprinklers off when the temp is near or below freezing), and my dash lit up like a Christmas tree with my aftermarket radio turning off for a second and my wipers running one revolution. My headlights might have turned off, but I don't know for sure since I was distracted by the cluster lights and the radio turning off.

Is this what usually prompts the TIPM replacement?

I drove home from gf house in a side wimd so strong my steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle to stay straight. Stupid traction lights came on because of it.

I'll fess up, I'm not ashamed.....I stopped by the dealer today and picked up a set of Mopar splash guards. I don't mind a dirty jeep, but sw florida roads are always wet from sprinklers and rain and the full-blown rooster tail every time I drive was starting to get to me. Um....that doesn't mean my forum membership will automatically be revoked, does it?

You'll like it. Check out Amazon. That is where I bought mine and seems like it was cheaper. It is a genuine Mopar part too. You'll like the the cut outs for the tie downs.

I saw earlier but can't find it now, a device to place in the rear to keep your dogs from falling in the hole, anyone know what that is?

I probably should have post-dated my post since I can't install them until Friday.
Now I am ashamed. Turns out I'm a premature poster.

Finally ordered my gears 4.88 since 37s will be on by the end of the year and air compressor to run the ARB locker I just ordered. Now just have to find a good deal on the install and I will be happy.

As long as getting these splash guards installed mean you can/will now drive over every body of water small or big on the road with confidence, enjoyment and pride then guard away. If not, then yeah, you might be put on membership probation. We will let you back in soon though...

Over the Christmas break I did a few things to my Jeep. I was hoping for lights but Santa didn't bring those. However, his wife bought some rocker switches so the lights will come later.

First thing I did do over the break was install my Quadratec armrest. I love this thing.

I also got some quality time with my 5 year old daughter who wanted to help Daddy put the new decals on. So I took the grey "Wrangler unlimited" decals off and put on the black ones.

Before the black:

With my helper.

All finished. Now I just need to warm up the Trail badge and get that off.

For those that changed the factory battery, how long did it last? I know this is climate specific but more specifically for those who experience winters. Since my original battery died and the shop that's going to be doing the work loaned me a battery and this one crapped out this morning I'm beginning to think that something is draining my battery. It has been very cold in NY lately but 2 batteries in such a short space of time is just baffling. My original battery lasted 2 years and the loaner battery came off of a 2012 like mine but the owner only had 6000 miles on his. I have a wire harness connected directly to the battery which is connected to the JW Speaker headlights to prevent the flickering. Other than that I am at a loss. Any ideas?

I run optima yellow top. Never fails me. Loaner battery does not = new battery.

I have little to no fenders and they love running these reclaimed sprinklers all the time. Needless to say I try avoiding them but nonono to mud flaps. I love to see the water shooting 10 feet high off the tires. Lol

I saw my Jeep in the sunlight for the first time today. I found it online, test drove it at night and picked it up in a snowstorm.

I think the first thing I would do is see if the alternator is putting out the correct voltage when running. If it is I would hook up a volt ohm meter to the battery's and start pulling fuses to see what is causing the drain.

...or if you don't have a meter, use a 12v test light inline with the positive battery cable. If it lights up when the vehicle and accessories are off then something is drawing current. As the last poster mentioned...start pulling fuses until the test light goes out or gets VERY dim.

Gutter Guard grill. Took the silver Sahara bumper inserts off last week.

I'm taking this mod thing slow.
