They use four mounting screws versus three used by the factory speakers. You have to use the adapter bracket that comes with the Polks. But it's as easy as screwing the adapter bracket in to the soundbar blank hole, then screw the speaker to the adapter. I chose not to buy useless speaker adapters so I just used some butt splices and taped it all up neatly.

Installed a low profile 12" sub. Removed the stock sub enclosure in the rear and replaced it with the non-sub panel. Reclaimed some much needed cargo space.

Thanks for the pics.
Are you going to paint the grills black?

Man...I wish those bad boys could fit under the factory grills. But I think the tweeter protrudes too far. I love Polk Audio speakers.

For those that have not made the switch...going from the factory Alpine's to the Kickers reminded me of going from 6.5's to 5.25's bass wise. But we will see if the surrounds loosen up over time and I get a bit more extension (bass).

See my previous post above.

I just put the same kit on mine and my 33s look just right to me, your 32s shouldn't look too out of place.

My wife sewed Velcro on the boonie cap so I could add the patch.

The reflective black is pretty sweet. It is silver from some angles and almost looks invisible....black from other angles, and of course reflects in light at night.

I just took out the front 4 hold down bolts and loosened the rear and tilted it up and made a pattern. You only need 1 pattern, then flip it over for the other side.
I am not concerned with the SAT radio,my free sample is about over and I wont pay for radio.

Excellent idea....
Looks like I might be on my way to Menards this weekend for some materials. This could save me some cash. I had $200 budgeted for some type of headliner and I found the Mopar ones for $200.94 shipped...but they are on back-order with an unknown date. This could be done for less than $50.

Was it difficult to remove the engine padding?

This mod is something else I'm going to do since I'll most likely never lower my windshield. Getting rid of the stock hood latches made an amazing differenence. The vehicle looks sleaker and they no longer catch my eye (and I think something is running across the road) at night. Dumping the marshmellows is next.

NAH,I just bent the 2 tabs on each side out of the way and pulled insulator away.Bumpers pop out easy by squeezing 2 tabs in.Install plugs and bend tabs back.NO sweat.

Stopped by a local car audio shop and they blew me off. Recommended not replacing the soundbar speakers alone, if I had a factory "upgraded" system. I'm assuming b/c they'd rather have me gut the entire thing and replace all of it so they can suck my bank acct. dry.

Just to confirm and ease my mind, I'm ok putting the Polk's in the soundbar with the Alpine system?

No...they were telling you the truth.

Common topic on here. The way the factory system is set-up, for the "best" sound, you really do need to gut the entire system....head unit, amp, and speakers. But a lot of people don't want to do that...so we do what we can where we can. Yes, you can swap you factory Alpine/Infintys for Polk Audio. Keep in mind that the rear soundbar has about half as much gain as the fronts, and the low freqancies are filtered out (on the premium systems). Also keep in mind that none of the factory 6.5's have tweeters in them.

If you unhook your sub and listen to just your rears....they almost sound like OLD SCHOOL surround sound. Back when surround sound was just two very small 4" drivers in the back of the room.

^Up until April.......I had not paid for TV in about a decade. Whatever I watched was either over the airwaves....or off the internet. I basically broke down because we could not get one of the major stations to come in (CBS), the wife was complaining, and the Bulls were about to make an extended play-off run....or so I thought.

Sorry just a comment/question I always say when people say they refuse to "pay for radio". Being in my 40's, I remember people (boomers) saying they would never pay for TV when cable, satelite etc was invented. Now most do. You almost can't get a signal with out it. I like satellite. I like the control and being able to get what I want when I want it. I don't mind paying for services I find useful. Just mho.
