Been a little while but I added my new MB TKOs with 33'' Duratracs yesterday, love them. Also added the VDP stubby bumper kit. Transforms the Jeep.

Put on the KC HiLites as well. Long weekend in the garage but worth it.

Couldn't help but notice how terrible my stock 2013 wrangler speakers sounded so I put in this order today. Hope to have them before the end of the week! Even my 2008 Patriot sounded so much better than my wrangler stock, hopefully these speakers will do the trick.

It's a VERY mild improvement (trust me on that), but stuffing your soundbar helps a little. Do that before swapping out those speakers.

Wow thats disappointing. My friend has JL speakers in his car and they're not even the quality of these ones and they sounded a lot better than his stocks. What speakers are you running? and what should I use to stuff the sound bar?

I should have been more specific, sorry. The soundbar stuffing is the mild improvement. Almost any proper speaker will be a pretty big difference.

You can get "true" speaker polyfill (don't bother) or go to Michael's or an equivalent and get some there either packaged or buy a pillow

ohhh thank god haha I thought you meant changing out the speakers wouldn't do much. I was only going to replace the sound bar speakers with the C2-525X but decided not to cheap out and bought the TR600-CXi for the dash speakers. These were definitely not the cheapest route to go, but once again I figure do it right the first time. I have had JL in my old VW and they sounded unreal compared to stock.

JL's good stuff. I had a 2.slow as well which had MB Quart and JL's. I miss that soundstage, but nothing else

I have the aFe Catback and performance may be improved but its not super noticeable. I purchased mine because it gets rid of the giant muffler near the back of the Jeep and moves it under the drivers side and is way more compact. Sound is not horrible and at low RPM's is barely noticeable.

Haha that car was fun at times, but I do not miss it now that I have my Wrangler. When I had the Patriot I immediately regretted the trade. Anyways, my 2.slow had all JL and a JL 12" sub in the trunk, the sound system was amazing and like you said thats all I really miss. Hopefully these JL's will fill that void.

Just curious, your free for three years oil changes. Are they completely free from your dealership or were you referring to a service contract you purchased?

Jose,

I will for sure let you know, probably get a thread going with pics when they arrive. I ordered from Crutchfield, they include all the wiring and adapters to fit these speakers into our soundbars and dash. I called the 1800 number and the guy was awesome, helped explain what modifications needed to be done to install and it seemed pretty easy. For all 4 speakers and shipping it cost me $240.

Ladies and gentlemen. As previously stated, I ordered the Welcome Distributing grab handles today. What I didn't expect was a call from Ken himself to thank me for my order. There was a slight problem with the order and he was confirming that everything I ordered was correct. He also mentioned that he also sells rubber grips for the handles and I tried to add them to the my order but couldn't. He threw in the key chain as a thank you gift but what happened next was unprecedented. I tried numerous times with different cards, cleared cookies and cache but to no avail. He threw in the grips (a $15 value) as well. All he asked for was to like him on Facebook and spread the word on the forum. I have never gotten this kind of service from ANY company.....EVER. I will try to get the $15 to him because everybody gotta eat and times are hard. I urge everyone to also give him a try. I was completely blown away by the customer service.

Ok, not today - but did it yesterday! (posted in another forum in the incorrect spot)

On page 173 of "What did you do to your JK today" thread. These are some ideas that I got. Perhaps some ideas to make the look a tad bit more "OEM"?

PIC #1: I took the idea of using the "Hillman Plugs" from Lowe's and combined this with the Radio Shack switch to hide in the A-pillar top. With a bit of Dremel work to the plug - I was able to fit the small switch into the plug, and the plug into the pillar easily (the LED light isn't noticeable when the windshield lamps are on).

PIC#2: This is where I need some help. The stubby antennae runs in front of the lamp. Do you believe this would be an issue (When the headlamp covers are on - it forces the antennae more so forward). I could also bend the antennae behind the windshield lamp, however weary of signal issues that may happen? AND for the life of me, I couldn't find the post in which a forum member shows us how to pivot the antennae (Please Help if you do know).

PIC#3: The people on this forum are SO HELPFUL and WILLING, I'm very thankful for it. I often hear "Dad, can you charge this?"; So I added to female USB ports on the rear seatbelt buckles. These are run behind the rear seat, underneath the trunk carpet, to the rear 12V port. I decided against tapping into the center console/armrest USB port - as I didn't want the UConnect system to activate each and every time one kids plug their Phone or Ipod in. I thought the rear 12V connection was better - "IF" the kids wanted to play their music - they could do so via UConnect. The question I have is:

"How do I make the USB attachments on the rear-seat belt buckles look a bit more OEM"?

As they are now, they're zip-tied with electrical tape. Perhaps some type of leather fabric sewed or shrink wrap that covers the buckle? Maybe fabricate a fiberglass sheath of sorts that will clip over the buckles and incorporate the USB connector also? (I wanted to avoid any type of gluing or adhesive so I can easily remove in the future - if I ever wanted to sell the car, or upgrade to a better piece of electrical equipment i.e. mini HDMI ports instead of USB)

PIC#4: This is the USB adaptor I'm using, and where I plug the two female USB ports in. It's hideous, and with all the kids sports equipment I put back there, it often gets banged up. I guess I'm waiting for somebody whom is more so electrical savvy (and likes the ideas of my USB ports) and can show me how to tap into the vehicle's electrical system - without purchasing another cigarette port - and make the look a bit more OEM?

Any thoughts? All your help is greatly appreciated!

Found the OR-Fab rear bumper I wanted on Amazon...for less than $500. LEDs and recovery shackles included, AND free 2 day shipping. I was going to wait, but I just couldn't help it. Should be here in the next couple of days!

This weekend I stuffed my soundbar and sub (pretty decent improvement to sound quality I say - glad I did it). Also put on wheel locks and installed rear taillight guards.

Also had to unexpectedly install a new garage door opener. Not really a Jeep mod - but it was for the Jeephouse so I figure it counts.

Rough Country 2.5" lift installed. Much Better!!!! One thing I wasn't counting on was the amount of hood flutter I gained by the lift leveling it out.

Daystar hood wranglers are an inexpensive fix. About $25-30, and install in about 15 min if you take your time. Fixed my problem. I am sure others will chime in and give you free options to fix it.

Another possible solution would be removing the spring on the inside of the hood. Also an inexpensive fix

Bought 2 sets of Polk dB651s for my 11JKU. Time to save up for an amp, couldn't do it all at once. However, I do have an Alpine iDA-x100 headunit so hopefully it will push better then stock.
