I bought a brand new factory soft top off Craigslist yesterday. I was hoping I'd be able to install it when I got home with it, but realized the seller left the roll bar brackets on his Rubicon when he traded it in. That's fine, I expected that, so I get to order the brackets and wait a couple weeks before switching tops (out of town next weekend). I also need to get some sort of hoist installed in the garage too, though it can wait for a little bit. I'll put the top in the backyard until I get that done.

SPIDERWEBSHADE! TRAILMESH, After careful deliberation between Dirty Dog and Spiderweb, went with the cost effective approach. Totally happy. The threads here just confused me more haha. Questions answered: I am 6'2" (that was my main concern) no headroom issue at all. Flapping? On highway some, but minimal and wouldn't really say it was a flap. If you want totally quiet, a Jeep probably isn't your vehicle of choice, anyway.

Just got my 2012 Rubicon after years or cars in between my last Jeep....still wondering why I ever bought cars (complete lapse of reasoning).

Anyone have any opinions of some cool mods that us new jeepers should look into? I've got 300$ waiting for me to spend!

Off with the hard top, on with the Sunrider top. Its a new top and quite a wrestling match to get it secured.
Can someone compare theirs to the pic of window header. Let me know if the gap looks OK. Took three of us to get it to latch. I hope it stretches I'll never be able to do this solo.
My Garage hoist set up works great though.

Some windshield mounted trail lights. Preferably KC daylighters with the smiley face covers. My light covers get compliments all the time. About 100 bucks

Ran someone off the road. Well, not me, my son. Trying to teach him to drive. He's been doing great in cars but this was the first time in a Jeep. He was making a left in a two lane turning lane, and sorta went wide.

That'll do donkey. My turn.

I used the Racor hoist. Ratchet straps secure hard top to the storage rack. the rack is great for storing the soft top in the winter
