I picked up my new Gecko from the dealer. She already has a 4" mopar lift and 35" KM2's installed. So now all we gotta do is thrown in the Teraflex lift on the hubby's Rubi when he gets home from his deployment and we've got the makings for a very fun welcome home for Daddy, and one heck of a summer.

The next door neighbor picked up a '99 TJ Saturday too so......

Gonna be some fun around here! hehe

Got my MB72 16X8.5 & 4.5 BS with Falken Rocky mountain ATS 285X75R16's...disabled TPMS (got an AEV PROCAL) :-) Also got a day star bump stop for the spare! It doesn't look like its going to rub the fenders at all...I'll try to flex it tomorrow! FYI, the tire measurement while installed/inflated to 37.5 psi by DT is 32"...So, I set the Procal accordingly. And 4fit, thanks for all the help! :-)

37.5 PSI is too high. That's a door placard pressure, most likely. A lot of tires shops and dealers do that.

You should do a chalk test to find your optimum PSI. My guess is it'll be closer to 30 PSI. I run 32 PSI in my 35's (as per the chalk test), and they're E-rated DuraTracs.

Basically, just find a flat asphalt area where you can drive forward enough to get a couple of tire revolutions. Chalk a line on your tire tread from edge to edge (the kind of chalk that's used with chalk lines in construction works best, since it will leave a mark on the asphalt). After you've made the line, pull forward, then check the line on the asphalt.

If your PSI is too high, only the middle portion of he chalk line will show up on the asphalt. If PSI is too low, the ends will show but the middle will be absent. Adjust accordingly till you get a nice, even line on the asphalt.

A couple of links re chalking your tires (there are a couple of ways to do it):

Your Jeep looks great, by the way.

Dropped off Topanga to have her re-geared and an Auburn LSD added. Going from 3:21's to 4:10's with LSD. Also getting some Daystar bumpstops added to rear tire carrier and a stainless mesh grill insert by Rampage! Love the anticipation!

No problem. Rig looks great man. A plasti-dipped or bedlined grill would look killer on there.

The whole thing: front and rear gears, install kits, Auburn LSD and Rampage grille installed will cost me $3,000. The price would have been approximately $2500-$2600, but the shop and I decided to use 4:10 gears right from Jeep. The install kits are Motive. The grill is stainless diamond black finish and is $190. There may be places that would be cheaper, but I won't let anyone but Elias 4WD in Townsend, MA touch my Jeep. They are awesome and come highly recommended in this area. They did all of the work in my sig as well.

All you have to do is heat them up with a hear gun or hair dryer. Take some fishing line and cut through the tape behind the emblem. Them take some goo gone and clean up. After the residue is all gone put some wax over that area.

To plasti-dip them, no need in taking them off. Just tape a square around the area, throw on a few coats of plasti-dip, peel of excess. Done.

Plastidipping Option

You could also have it clear-bra-ed. I just had an estimate on mine for $215. My hubby drives a very low sports sedan with an aftermarket (low, low) front lip- clear bra-ed. A curb recently jumped in front of me and the lip got scratched DEEPLY. We took it to the guy who did the clear bra for removal so we could re-paint the lip. There wasn't a scintilla of damage to the paint. Not from the curb and not from 2 years of crappy California freeway driving. The scratch only went through the clear bra. It is a 3M film. There are very cheap films (and installers) out there- only get the 3M and only if they have an existing template. We also have it on the hood on the sedan and it still looks brand new. I have a ton of other fun mods I want to do- but the bug catcher (I mean front grill) is getting done. A little pricey- but worth it.
