Bought a JKINI Spidershade @ Jeepbeach today. Oh yeah, almost rolled it off #3 course hill climb. The crowds oohs and ahhhs were priceless. I did redeem myself by making it up and over. The applause was great.

Took the top and doors off and they will now stay off.. The state of Ma. SUCKS............

Also.
received my FREE Rugged Ridge floor mats so I tossed them in.

I removed the cowl thing in between the hood and windshield to take off the Plastic Dip I put on a year ago, Plastic Dip was the biggest mistake I ever made. But I add a little personal touch while reinstalling the cowl.
Painted that black plastic thing. I was going to do steel mesh but the plastic part acts as a support so I just painted it.

Replaced the pathetic horn with a PIAA super bass dual horn. Big time pain, but now I have a real horn.

I finally pulled off the stock "sport" and "wrangler" stickers. One small step at a time!

DIY Grille Guards and New Bumper

Finally got around to doing my first mods after nine months of having the JKU. DIY grille guards and an Olympic Boa Rock Bumper. It took me awhile to find a bumper I liked as I wanted it to be; 1. Under $400...$362.99 was the total w/ tax 2. Not too heavy and 3. Ability to mount a winch. The fact I could reuse the OEM fog lamps was a plus. Next up the winch plate and winch.

Took the hard top off for a while. No rain in the forecast and temps up into the 90's for the week, so we should be good topless.

Went doorless for the first time this Spring! 65 mph, leg out the door, cargo shorts...me gusta! Our move to Texas can't happen soon enough!

Since the weather was so nice here on LI today, I did a few things that have been sitting on the shelf waiting.
Finally received my ACE rock sliders, so those were first. After that, I installed the Quadratec 2" receiver and trailer harness, a Mopar fuel door and a Rugged Ridge grill insert.
I'm liking the look of everything. A day well spent.

I installed a factory hitch on mine that someone was kind enough to trade for beer. It took me longer to get my tools out then it did to install it in the dark after work one day. I went with the rugged ridge wire harness and it was just a tad longer to install but just as simple. Probably 15 min for both.

Round 2

Spent much of the afternoon tweaking my girl:

Before/In process:

After addition of:
T-Rex Black Billet Grille Insert (stole it!)
Rampage Hood Locks (could have used a smaller set of hands...)
Truck Lite LED Headlight (worth every penny)
Recon LED Smoke Turn Signals and Marker Lights (another steal)

And finally, installed her IPCW LED Smoke Taillights:

I'm addicted to LED... And with all of that electrical, work I managed to only blow one fuse!

Super easy! 4 bolts. I install a hitch on every vehicle I own. This one was by far the easiest.

Installed my truck lite LTD head lights. I'm probably the only one who had an issue with one of the lights not sitting correctly in the plastic housing. Passenger side took 5 minutes. Drivers side just did not want to sit tight in the housing. Thought the silver trim ring would hold it, it did but if I took my hand and moves it, it rattled ?? After four try's of removing and reinstalling I finally took electric tape and placed around bottom and top perimeter where new back of light sits in housing. That stopped the movement / rattling. Placed back the silver trim ring and tight for now! Very strange! At least they look good! Check out the pics

Looks good !
Ya know, installed mine today, and had the same issue on Drivers' side as well. Used black Duct Tape in much the same way, although I layered it on the inside of the trim ring until it was snug. And here I thought I would be the only one! Either way, I am loving all the extra light!

Wow that makes me feel better man! These strange things seem to only happen to me! Good idea about the extra tape.

But yes they look good! Have not driven yet. Based on what I showed in my before and after pics, think they will make a big difference!
