Gotcha...I'd be interested in seeing the finished product.

Here is my hard top removal. Bought the ratchet winch from Harbor freight for 20 bucks. Took the cable off and used a nylon rope. Pulleys and hardware from Home Depot. About 50 bucks or everything. Total time to take the top off is about 15 minutes. The hardest part s finding the balance points. I marked the straps so its exact each time now

Removed the seats and carpet. Then hosed out most of the mud.

If I had to do it over I would have used a small come along instead of the ratchet winch. It's a bit slow lowering the top and requires to steps I the ratchet. I for gt the step once and released the ratchet and the top just hurled to the ground fortunately I was almost perfectly parked under it so it didn't fall far. Moved it a little and bolted her down. Lucky on the one

Thanks. The wife is bugging me to sell and get a four door JK. Not ready to part with the old girl just yet. Lots of mods still left.

Made it back from my vacation in Hilton Head, gave it a nice wash and added this to my back window: anyone else rocking the palmetto tree?

That pic can be used for advertisement! Looks excellent!

Added a pair of velcro straps from Home Depot to hold the top more neatly as suggested by another member the other day, makes a huge difference.

Then picked up a buddy and cruised downtown to have a couple of beers on a patio in the sunshine (showing off my new wheels might have been a minor ulterior motive).

I just pulled a corner and worked the rest off by hand. After that I used a little adhesive remover to take of the residue.

What section are these in? Wondering how well it will work on the premium top.

Changed the oil and filter for the third time myself. Easiest vehicle I've ever had for oil changes. Left the engine cover off for now. Thinking less heat containment is more important to me than cosmetics or noise suppression. We'll see how quickly the intake mani gets caked with grimy dust...

Hardware section, look for tie-downs. My top is the premium top and it works great.

I drove from Albany NY to my home in CT with the family. Topless all the way and 100 miles on back roads only. Did it old school with maps, just used the GPS in map mode to make sure I didn't miss a street. Did not load any address.

We stopped at so many scenic places, crossed some dirt roads and even an outlet mall to please the wife. It was neat.

Towards the end of the day, about 20 minutes from home, my wife held my hand and said "we bought the perfect vehicle for us" I responded "yes we did!"

Tomorrow I'll ask for front pumper for Fathers Day.
