I got my CB antenna mount installed, grounded and wiring run into the tub. Tomorrow I will finish routing the antenna wire to the temporary location until I get a new radio to replace the one I have. Then I will run the wire to its permanent home above the rear view mirror.

Finally got around to starting to paint the interior of my doors.

One of them. First of 3 coats. They came out really nice.

Nothing exciting for me today.

I put the car seat in the back and put the front doors back on in under 4 minutes.

My daughter insisted we drive Daddy's Jeep to go run errands today.

Cool looking forward to your write up. I am wondering how much clearance this gains you on the exhaust ect.

I wouldn't recommend these because of the poor quality and the damage they did to my jeep. I had to unbolt the hood to realign the spacing. If you want a lock I would get the Mopar one that uses the ignition key, it's expensive but nice. And then get some of the RR ones or drake or something. The rampage ones look really good but are not worth it.
Thanks. I guess I'll be looking at something else. I already have the Mopar hood lock. I got it to ease the pain of my buying experience 2 years ago along with a locking gas cap. I do like the Drake and the RR ones too. Now I have to decide which one.

My wife did too the first time doorless. The second time, she had her foot hanging out and now she thoroughly enjoys the wide open Jeeping experience.

That's funny, we have to avoid the interstate doorless.

My wife is the same but only on back roads. She doesn't like door less on highway and blames it on the kids (they love it) so for local trips keep it back roads (fine by me, more driving time with the jeep) today my daughter has a softball game about 40 minutes all highway. I'll have to put the doors on.

She said when then kids get older she will be fine on highway. She does love the top down.

Came across this. Looks good since our '12's didn't get the auto dimming rear view mirrors. Might as well kill 2 birds with one stone. Especially since I have plans for a 37 out back. My rear window will become useless.

Cleaned her inside and out. Waxed, put the top down. Ready to roll.
All set to leave for Wyoming and get her dirty.

My wife is the same. Do yourself a favor and get a spiderweb shade from spiderwebshade.com It breaks up the wind buffet and keeps the sun from baking you.

So at this point, my wife can deal with the top off, but still really hates the doors off, it makes her nervous. She says its ok on the small streets, and such, but on the larger blvds with 50mph speed limits she starts to get a little twitchy about it.

I think some tube doors might be enough, because at this point it feels like she's mostly nervous about not having a door.

Does the screen attach or just hang on the original mirror? Just wondering how it would do while offroading?

Don't know yet. I haven't installed the radio yet. I plan on running a ground wire to some bare metal somewhere to help.

I ha e the qtecs on Dietec brackets. The only issue is my drivers side glass vibrates. I need to call them and see if they will replace it. Otherwise, I like them a lot.

Installed my new KC Windshield lights in my 2013 JK Rubicon today. Not a bad job for a girl who has never done something electrical on her jeep before! It took me almost 4 hours and that was after hours of researching online how to do it and also having 2 shout outs to my brother-in-law in Florida who installs them for a living. (Wish we lived closer together! I'm in PA.)

I had such a hard time deciding where to put my switch. I was ready with 2 options...the little switch that came with the KC kit and a rocker switch and daystar panel to replace the little net panel below my other factory switches. Surprisingly, I ended up going with the little switch and I am very happy I did.

I installed it at the top of the A pillar above the driver sun visor. Here is a pic of where the switch is and the finished lights on the windshield. I still have to aim them but they work!! My roof is open which is why you see white above the jeep. It made it a lot easier to run the wires to the switch having the top back. I have more pics of the install if anyone is wanting to see them. I'm including a picture of the "rubber" grommet I ran the green and white wires through to get them into the cab and up to the switch.

One of thing that bugged me with the KC kit was the brown ground wire for the switch isn't very long. It was too short to get down to under the dash from the top of the pillar so I ran it to the middle of the cross bar at the top of the windshield and connected it to a screw that was holding on the center steel "loop". Everything is nicely hidden behind the black molding that runs along that stretch...
