Can't wait to get em dirty, although I do wish it had occurred to me before today that mine didn't come with quick disconnects for the front swaybar. Maybe I can get that rectified before next weekend.

Edit: Ordered from Quadratec, problem rectified soon. lol
Sounds like you two are all set! You two have fun together and enjoy his homecoming.

Rugged Ridge quick release mirrors

Took the doors off - and installed a pair of Rugged Ridge quick release mirrors. I like 'em. Two for $55 on Amazon. Pretty solid build quality. Very easy install. Just remove two torx bolts on the windshield frame and install a bracket. The bracket has a foam backer so it won't scratch the paint.

Next there is a 'arm' that attaches to the bracket with a hand tightened fastener so you can adjust the angles for good viewing. The round mirrors are bolted on the end of the arm - that is an adjustable fastener so you can move the mirror around.

Took a few pix so anyone interested could see how they attach.

Here's wishing you both a happy, easy reunion (since they aren't always that easy, according to my wife ). If you all are wheeling next weekend, send a shout and we can get the Gecko's on parade.

PS Do you know of anybody actually taking on the "loop" that's on the back way to Mount Lemon. I have to be honest: It looked pretty intimidating

First, I took off the hardtop and prayed the dark clouds would blow the other way. Just got a few raindrops, no big deal.

Second, I tore up the floor on the passenger side because it smelled like something died over there. I never did find the source, but the floor was soaked with some nasty, sick-smelling liquid. I almost puked. I scrubbed and hosed off the carpet and padding, used some laundry detergent and Oxy-clean, and hung it out to dry. I scrubbed the actual floor with Comet. I'm sure it will take a few days for the carpet and pad to dry out, but I'm going to be pissed if I get in the Jeep tomorrow and it still smells rancid. Then I REALLY have to tear it up.

Why did you buy a special edition like that only to remove the badges?

Lol a friend of ours goes there a lot. He's coming home tomorrow with the hubby. I think that might be where he rolled his Yota last year though.

Nothing too wild, but did finally get around to switching out the Sahara decals on the side. Went with a silver/black combo and think it looks much better on a white jeep. Thanks pixeldecals

Today I decided to do a little work on my JK, I removed the factory tailgate hinges and painted in behind on the tailgate because that is a spot where the factory does not paint and that's how rust starts in behind all the hinges...you would figure that Chrysler would paint every panel then adding the hinges but no...every thing is put on the it's painted complete!
Here is a pic of the factory hinges & 1 of them with the back thats against the panel...no paint & rust started to form...

I taped the panel off and painted with Rustoleum when there was no paint...you can see on the bottom hinge where Chrysler neglets to paint behind the hinge...

Both area cleaned & painted...

Painted dried up after 1 hour & I installed the new Stainless Steel Tailgate Hinges & also Plsti-Dipped the Bolts for the Contrast...

I also did the Mopar Gas Cover Bolts & Jeep Logo on the Cap in Plasti-Dip...just waiting for it to dry & clean it up...

I got my Rugged Ridge grab handles in the mail the other day so I put them on today. They are the ones that mount in the corners of the windshield. I also stowed my hi-lift jack behind the rear seat and used a couple of bungees to secure it. Yes girls can use tools too!

Washed her down, cleaned her up , vacuumed, rain x'ed the windshield and put on a coat of wax for the Summer! Took me all afternoon, but she looks new again! Nice to see the Mango Tango paint shining again for a change. Had to pick the bugs out of her grill too!

I bought the COD edition because I like the look of the aftermarket hood and bumpers more than I like the COD badges. I was able to buy it for the same price as a standard 2 DR Rubicon, so it wasn't any more expensive. Thnking of removing the Wrangler stickers as well for a more clean look.

Nice tip. When I cut that plastic piece behind the bumper for my new bumper/winch install, I used a metal cutting blade and that thing made a giant mess and melted/clumped pieces of plastic. Now I know what to do for the fender chop. Thanks.

Today I found the drain plugs, and removed my backseat as I proceeded to hose out the entire back half of jeep. The seats are dry, still waiting on the carpet. It's only about 50% clean but it's livable for work this week.

Had a great time though! Thanks to Rick for showin me around and pullin me out at few times. Lesson learned; keep top up when trail blazin through possibly muddy areas.

Fixed the zipper on my back window. All it took was some sweat, some silicone, and a couple blisters.
