Gobi rack finally came. Install was pretty straight forward. All total without all the interruptions was probably three hours. It came very well shipped, lots of protection. I love it.

Getting the old (new ha ha) ones off is a Flat head screwdriver and a pipe wrench. Came out in pieces. I was able to salvage the top caps but that was it. The Drake's are nice. Slide on and tighten the set screws done

Parking Brake

My latest work was the parking brake. It's on going. It started with the shoes that were frozen solid. Parking lever all the way up and sort of held but not great on a steep hill. Tried to adjust the star from learning on this forum. It was better but still not holding the way it should. It's a 2010 Rubicon Unlimited with 35's and 3.5 lift and a Gobi Rack with much added weight to the vehicle. I have stock rims with spacers which probably add to my problem with the parking brake. Got tired of working on the old drums and replaced them. I am average with the tools and lack patience. I replaced both drums and cables. Made adjustments again. It holds if you pull the lever all the way on a steep hill but I want that parking brake to hold with 3 clicks or 4 max. I spoke with a mechanic that was saying if I use shims should correct the issue. I have been working on this for a day now. It's much better than when I started this small project but I really want that parking brake to be perfect. It's a 6 speed manual. I am fairly new to wheelin so a perfectly working jeep is a must for me at this time. If anyone has heard of using shims with the parking brake please chime in. I love the Jeep. I had a 4Runner before this Jeep and smile at the other 4Runners on the trails. They don't get the wave!

Great (and funny) vids. Let us know how the door guards hold up. Used the same stuff on my tailgate and had to touch up every so often.

You just gave me a new spot to put my spare change!!!

I usually use that little area for a foot rest when driving highway, but it's not that great. And currently have all my change in my cup holders and it gets annoying because I can't put anything there.

Hopefully no one jacks your coins with the doors off!

.45 caliber valve stem caps I made today.

I had made 9mm but the shell was to short to completely cover the valve stem.

Thinking of going that route myself. Can I ask how much the dealer is charging installed? Post how the ride is when done.

It's the OEM plastic caps. They have a longer neck the a regular cap.
I just put some gorilla glue in the shell and slid the cap into it.
I placed all 5 in a bench vise for 3 hours. That keeps the gorilla glue from pushing the cap out as the glue expands.
I'll shine them then spray a coat of clear over it to keep it shining.

I did 9mm before, but they were to short and didn't look nice. Besides, I like shooting my 1911 the best.
