Every other section has this stickied so I thought I would start one. Forgive me if its in there already but I could not find it.
Anyway here's what I did.
After removing the different cover for a routine fluid change I decided to paint the cover, it needed a little touching up so I thought I would go ahead and paint it red. I already had some farm equipment paint on hand, I'm pretty sure it will hold up to any temps that might be reached.

Nice! 2 questions: 1) What did you use to illuminate spyder logo? 2) did u use any spacers to mount that winch to the bumper? Or was it direct bolt on?
I used reflective vinyl. If you email pixel decals they will send you waste vinyl. For like $6. I have some left over could mail it. Stuck it to an aluminum plate and 3m'ed it to the bunper. No spacers. It's just sitting on a PS fairlead mount.

Removed the soft top and put on the freedom top I managed to score for $675 last week! Yahoo. The wife was impressed with how little time it took us to get it done. She would have been happier if we could have removed the mounting plates (they're sharp and grab everything) but we couldn't figure out how to get the roll cage padding off. It looks like it has a zipper, but we couldn't find the zipper slide for the life of us. Tomorrow? Install the grab handles that Amazon just sent me.
What year? My '12 and '14 were/are simple to find, no roll bar cover takeoff, I just moved it a bit out of the way where the soft top attached and unscrewed 4 torx screws (2 per side). There were even Velcro flaps that kept the slits in the rollbar cover closed.

Did you go with flat or gloss decal? I went with flat, like the looks better, but it's a PITA to wax the hood. I used a quick wax detailer between washes and got swirled marks on the decal. Had to wax the whole thing to get it as even as possible.
I got gloss , couldn't decide between it and flat.. My wheels are gloss so I went with the wheel to try and off set the colors a little... May do flat later.. Still undecided on the look... Although it has lost a lot of the sheen in a couple days... I can only imagine the wax issue..

Drove it 2300 miles from PA to UT through mostly snow packed and icy roads. From Springfield MO to Amarillo TX it was a skating rink. Everything from big rigs to smart cars were in the ditches. Went several miles that had a seimi in the ditch every hundred yards or so. The only Jeep I saw in the ditch was a TJ pulling a 12ft uhual trailer, and it looked like he was about to drive it out. I would have stopped to help him but I was loaded to the rafters with stuff and another 500lbs on one of those hitch racks. I was way overweight, headlights pointing up, and still got 19mpg for the entire trip. stock tires and 3.21s. Kudos to all the Jeep drivers out there who kept it between the lines and for those who couldnt I hope you get to upgrade rather than just repair.
