Every other section has this stickied so I thought I would start one. Forgive me if its in there already but I could not find it.
Anyway here's what I did.
After removing the different cover for a routine fluid change I decided to paint the cover, it needed a little touching up so I thought I would go ahead and paint it red. I already had some farm equipment paint on hand, I'm pretty sure it will hold up to any temps that might be reached.

Felt dumb today with my JK!

So today I locked my car key in my JK 2-door w/ soft top as I arrived at work. I just bought it less than a month ago. First thing in my mind: CRAP! I have to call AAA for locksmith/key service.

I go in the office and tell my co-workers about the stupid thing I did. Whipped out my AAA card ready to call. Then one of my co-workers says: 'Wait, don't you have a soft top? Can't you just unzip that thing?'. <LIGHT BULB MOMENT!> I put the AAA card back in my wallet.

At the parking lot, I unzip the rear passenger side window. I still can't reach the keys on the passenger seat from the outside though. The lock mechanism is also out of reach to unlock. A small co-worker volunteers to squeeze in through the small side opening and grabs the key. Whew!

Lesson learned! Yay for zippered windows I guess? hehe

LOL. You could have unzipped the rear one and jump in.

BTW, I don't lock my Jeep with the soft top on. Learned that lesson long ago when someone cut into the convertible top to steal my cassette tapes.

My TJ was a soft top, I never locked the doors. I figured a "nice" criminal would unzip my windows. I had a steel security glove box and a security drawer under my seat. Anything of value over $10 went in there. Had things stolen out of my jeep 3 times in 3 years, nothing I cared about ones I installed those though

Replaced dual BDS steering stabilizer (or is it stabiliser?) with a single Old Man Emu with relocation bracket.

Steering wheel is way off center now but steering feels so much 'lighter', and Jeep no longer has a strong desire to pull left. I seemed to always have to fight against the BDS duals.
To get your steering wheel centered is a breeze. The hardest part is not having a helper to let you know when it's centered.

Got a free hi-lift jack and hood mount!! Traded in (at my dealership) a 2007 4 door, 70k mileage... that had a hi-lift jack and hood mounts. Gonna get it on hopefully this weekend.
You can tell whoever traded it in just had it for looks and didn't go off road because he could have used it in his new rig, or sold it on Craigslist.

That's an awesome find. Have fun.
