What did you pay?

New to the forum, been wanting a jeep for as long as I can remember and it looks like I will be getting one soon! I've been looking at the 2010 Sports with nothing but the basic packages. The manual sticker prices are around $22,500 while the autos are going for $23,500 in my area. Just wondering around what price I could get one out the door since I have already been approved financing through capital one. I'm from Dayton, OH by the way. Thanks!

Just a thought. Have you considered buying a pre-owned JK with more options for the same or less $$$

What dealership did you buy from? Looking myself, but would fly out and drive home.

Thanks!

My 2009 Wrangler X was stickered at $25,760.
I walked out the door paying $24,000 in total, that is including all the title, tags, and taxes for California. My financing was through my own bank.
But again, that is in California.

Take a look on edmunds.com for exactly what your are buying in your area. They will give you the invoice price with all of the extras added on plus they will give you what others have been paying for something similar in your area. It's always good to take a look at it at least so you know the invoice price on them.

When I bought my 07 new, it had a sticker price of 23K. I paid an internet price of 19K
It doesnt have all the bells and whistles, but I take pride in doing all the work myself.
I used auto-trader.com to find my jeep. (It took me a year to find the right one). Im a big fan of the site.

Thanks to everyone that answered so far. I've been doing my research for the past month or so and gonna start going to dealerships this weekend. As far as buying used, I've had used vehicles since I was 16. I'm now 25 and able to afford a new around the 23K range. Like another member stated, if I want to add something on to it I will just do it myself in the future.

I bought it at Larry H Miller in bountiful Utah about 10 miles north of Salt Lake City. That price was with the $500 bonus cash they also have $750 bonus or 0% for 36 months. I took the 0%.

1% below invoice, minus Chrysler "loyalty" incentive, minus current incentive, plus $75 and TTT.
$23,500 for an '08 2-door Sahara with autotrans, power group, Infinity sound, and red rock crystal paint.

I was just battling this decision two days ago and came away with an 08 vs. a 10 base. I saved myself about 3,500 and I have way more options than the base. The Jeep has only 20,000 miles on it and actually (at least I thought) ran better than the new one. The new one felt cheaper to me. Might be my imagination. Then again, better tires, rims, and some upgrades had alot to do with the look and feel. Check out some good used ones before you make your decision.

I got an 07 2 door tow package soft top with 17k miles on it for 16k. It took me over a year to find it and I barely beat another person in getting it. It has a nice aftermarket front bumper on it too with a 2" BB but I just removed the lift a few days ago

If you don't want that BB, mail it to me for proper recycling....

I'd love to but you won't want it either. I hit a pothole going about 40 and cracked it somehow. That's why I pulled it off. Messed up a front swaybar mount too. Weird. I've never seen a spacer crack or split. Leave it up to me

Most of the 2/2.5" BB lifts (PUCKS) are plastic and thats why they're cheaper and NOT FOREVER!!

I'm afraid plastic just degrades over time and those (PUCKS) are subjected to some pretty heavy pressures, thats a fact

Yeah. That's why I don't feel too bad about loosing my lift. Some new springs and shocks will go on however once I wear these tires a little more. Maybe this summer

There's an oxymoron.

There aren't any factory lifts; there are Mopar Performance lifts though --- made by other companies.

It's a Mopar lift installed by the dealer.

Is that better for you.

Just making sure you knew.
There have been other customers that were told they had factory lifts that were covered by the factory warranty. When they found out the truth they were rightfully miffed; nobody should be lied to or misled by a dealer...

What you pay is based on the following:
Knowledge: know what dealer paid for vehicle & what it's really worth
Timing: see below
Tenacity / negotiating skills. Bring a sandwich & be prepared to spend a lot of time at the dealer & walk away if the deal isn't to your liking.

I was able to buy my used TJ for around $5000 less than KBB based on the above. Timing is really key to buying a vehicle. Always buy the last day of the month when they're trying to sell just one more vehcile to make their quota. I bought on 12/31 & didn't leave until almost 10pm. Mine was the last vehicle sold that year & bumped the sales guy's numbers over the top. He got a huge incentive bonus & we got a SWEET deal on a TJ.

Rad, since this is your first new vehicle do like everyone says. NEGOTIATE the price down. Don't be afraid to walk out even, they will call you, they always do. It may take all day sometimes two or three days but the savings is worth it. You can almost use 15% markup on the sticker price as good base. Then just start dealing. Always remember to ask "What else can you put in at that price?" Ask for wheels, tires, stereo, in fact tell them let's go to the parts department and do some shopping. Get some service added also, oil changes, etc. Remember if you don't ask they won't give. SO ask and be determined. If fact don't ask so much as demand, stand your ground you got the money so your in control. Good Luck. Oh yeah if your not one to do this find a friend who knows how to deal. Remeber this is why they call them Car Dealers.....they deal.

Picked one out Saturday. Sticker price was $23,635. I walked out with it 4 hours later for $23000 even (tax, title, and all fees included in that). They had two identical on the lot, chose the green one over the black one. All I have to say is I'm in love
