Just purchased a '13 wrangler 4dr sport S, connectivity package, satellite radio, hard top, max tow package (3.73 and hitch) and anti-slip differential for $31,323. From my research, and according to the dealer, that's about $50 below invoice. Didn't think that was too bad.

it doesnt hurt to ask for less

aim for 3-5% below invoice. That is the going price for the car.

I love my jeep and dont regret paying what i did for it, but you should be able to get for 5% below invoice (read other peoples posts). or atleast ask him to throw in extra's... vinyl seats, alpine speakers, whatever tickles your fancy.

2013 JW Sport

Just got my Jeep Wrangler Sport with AC and Automatic transmission. Sweet jeep - black on black. MSRP $25,410. On sale for $21,000 PLUS they gave me the $1000 rebate since I was switching to the them from Toyota. Out the door at $20,000 plus taxes etc. I got this deal from Huntington Beach (CA) Chrylser Dodge Jeep Ram. Financed at 3.9%. Could have pushed harder on the rate but got such a great deal on the Jeep that I felt I was ahead.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Congrats!

Hopefully in less than a year I will be getting a JKU.

Currently in the works of buying a 2013 from Dave Smith's (Some other members have used them, and my supervisor got a vehicle from them). As it sits, I have a purchase agreement sitting at my credit union ready to have a check signed, but after reading what some others here are paying, I kinda feel I'm not getting the deal I should be...

2013 Wrangler Unlimited Sport S Black Hardtop
Power windows, locks, tow package and the connectivity kit. other then that nothing extra added.
Currently the price is $31,750 plus $500 cash, all tax and title fees included.
I also have to fly from Minneapolis, MN to Spokane, WA and then drive home (1400 miles). Dealer said they will pay for my plane ticket (about $250)

Might go to a local dealer tomorrow before heading to the credit union to sign some final paperwork, and if I can get a better deal, I would much rather avoid the travelling... Any negotiating tips I should use? This is my first time buying anything of any significant value, and I really don't want to get screwed...

I would go in with the price from Dave Smith and see if they can get to that number. If they can get close, then you have to factor in the gas and time for driving it back $1400 miles from WA as well to see really how different the prices are.

'13 JKU, in Billet, with the following options:

Hard Top
Sirius
Alpine stereo
Max Tow package
24s (power windows/locks, etc)
Automatic
Connectivity group

Before tax, title, license it was $30,450, with USAA discount. I didn't need the Alpine stereo, and I wanted a soft top, but I would've had to order and the price would've been pretty close anyway.

I ordered the new Bestop soft top from Quadratec (backordered, dangit!), so I'll have both tops. Qtec has the twill top for $1399.99, which is cheapest I could find.

Thought I got a pretty good deal. About 3-4% under invoice.

That is pretty much exactly what I did. Dave Smith's price was $29867.23 before fees. The dealer I went to could only go as low as $30000... I did however forget to mention that the Dave Smith price was after paying $500 cash down at pickup . Overall I ended up paying $32421 after all fees, so about $180 more, but I didn't have to pay $500 cash down, drive it 1400 miles home, and spend ~$400 on the gas to get home. Love it so far! Tops were off as soon as I got home from the dealer. Going to polyfill the soundbar tonight.

I wonder what changes are in store for 2103. Seems like prices are reasonable even wit inflation. Enjoy..sounds like a good deal on a great jeep.

I wouldn't break in the new Jeep by driving 1400 miles. I don't think it is recommended.

I almost bought from Dave Smith as well but the local dealer was just as competitive after giving them their quote.

I was a little worried about what changes are going on for 2014, but I'm not sure I would change anything. I really like this model and doubt there will be much change except for colors.

I would not worry about driving 1400 miles just vary your speed a bit hit the two lane roads instead of the interstate.

I had no luck dealing in Missoula or Ronan compared to Dave Smith. Both were over a $1000 more so it was worth the drive. Ronan was decent to deal with and gave me their bottom line right off the bat without playing games and when I told them what Dave Smith was offering me they said "that is a great deal and they can do that because they sell so many of them we wish we could match it but we simply can't, but we would still like to service your new wrangler if you need service down the road regardless where you buy it from" Lithia just gave me the run around over and over and kept telling me that no way was Dave Smith going to sell it for that when I got over there so just buy it here and save the trip yada yada. I told them if they could come within $500 of Dave Smith I would buy locally and they would not do it, kept telling me $1000 was fair to keep it local and I said good then give me $1000 cash because that is what I would be doing by spending $1000 extra to buy from Lithia.

I Pulled into Dave Smith's as they were opening my new jeep was waiting outside ready to go and with in an hour I was driving away. Did 95% of the deal over email. All I had to do was go over the wrangler with a fine tooth comb to make sure it was perfect (it had 9 miles on it) sign the paper work for the title (no pressure to get extended warranty or any other extras) and away I went.

April purchase

I did this all on-line, only a few phone calls I guess to insure I was legit, the vehilce came from another dealer. Delivery was very simple, the only upsale was of course finance and all their packages.

2013 JRKU, 6 speed, uniconnect, heated seats, hardtop, Rock Lobster Red.

My sales tax was 2.90
$34K OTD was offer, decided to take the 5 year windshield repair/replacement so final was @$34,300. finance was 2.49%

Interesting in looking at used from 2012 to 2013, the firm prices were several thousand more then new, only thing one can assume if someone paid way too much. The bad news on any new Wranger (my 4th) is there is now a new full size bumper and winch sitting in my garage

I highly recommend Dick Hannah in Vancouver, WA. I got 6% under invoice very easily. If you are in the PNW, its worth a call.

I would not worry so much about dealer as much as the deal. On a msrp of 35000 you should be able to between 3500 and 4000 off. The more expensive the Jeep the more off you can expect. If someone says they got 5000 off a 27000 jeep you can pretty much call BS on it. Mine listed @ 37210 and I got 4000.00 off. Probably could have done better but I liked the sales rep and figured he deserved a commission.

So I contacted Dave Smith today...

The salesperson mentioned to me their sales volume, which is truly impressive. Further, he mentioned that folks from all over travel to them because of their prices, in which he mentioned their no hassle approach.

I got the price quote...not impressed. I've received better quotes from local dealers. At the end of day, it's a business, and he has a product which sells itself. The deals are probably on the other cars that they sell. no worries
