'08 Unlimted Sahara, purchased Certifeid Pre-Owned April 2011
Loaded!
DVD/NAV system, Dual Top, Upgraded seats. Chrome rails, grille, door handles, light protectors, gas cap. Basically, if it was available, it was on it. 33,000 miles

Listed 27,000 got it under 23,000. Which is pretty good for me, because I am the worst at haggling...

How is everyone getting these great deals? Are these figures of what you're all financing or walking out the door with?

The invoice on mine was around $34,500 and sticker was $36,600. How are you guys getting these deals that are VERY FAR below invoice?

My price was OTD. No cash or trade value. Just rebates and discounts.

I had a buddy (who was a general sales manager at Ford) tell me about all the different incentives that are out there to dealers that most do not know about. Also, He told me there if the sales man is smiling, you paid too much LOL I am not sure how true that is, but my sales man/woman is always glad to see me leave LOL

I make sure to get pricing from at least 10-15 dealerships that are within a 300-500 mile range. I can always take a road trip to save 2-3K. I then call the dealerships closest to me and work my way out finding the best deal taking travel cost into consideration. I often get salesmen telling me to call back if I get a better deal. I do that as well. I spend about a 3-7 days researching price and find who is willing to deal and who is not. Then I start at the dealership I chose and work numbers from there.

This last wranger I bought was from a very large dealership in a very small town. They had it up on the ramp out front and it was the only wrangler on the lot. I kept calling back and telling them I found a better price (when I did find one) and they would come down to that price plus another few hundred. I finally asked for a military rebate of 500.00 and she got so mad LMAO she said OK, fine, but thats it. if you want it, it is this price. I was laughing because I was thinking about my buddy. But, it was indeed a good deal. I bought it over the phone basically (well ut the binder down and faxed a sales contract) and picked it up a few days later.

Worth a 45 minute ride. Best deal I could get within 500 miles.

With that being said, my friends remarks about making the sales guy pissed, I am not saying that works or that it is true. It just happened to be a side effect of my last offer.

My advise would be to not be in such a rush and do not look so anxious. Be prepared to walk away and never buy on the first visit unless you have several offers from other places and your first visit at a dealer beats them by a lot. Often, others will lower their best offer after they know you have shopped around. And lastly do not be afraid to ask for more. Remember they want to make the sale as bad as you want the jeep. Just be patient. ZEN is the word.

Just my experience and not saying it works for everyone. But, it works very well for me

2012 JK 2 Door Sport w/24S Wheel/Tires

I just bought my 2012 2 Door JK for $22,000. $26,600 and change on the sticker. (not including taxes and license fees). No trade-in.
Huntington Beach Jeep in California has the best deals I could find- and I looked for months (and months). Even though I didn't want the "S" package wheels/tires- the one I bought was less than the non-"S" Sports they had on the lot. (Selling the 17" wheels/tires in So Cal if anyone wants them).
Other dealers were offering about $1500-$2800 off in general.
HB Jeep also beat my bank's rate by 3/4 pt. and offered me 72 mos. instead of 60.
One thing for those who are looking: Costco does have an car/Jeep purchase program. If you are in an area where dealers don't deal on Jeeps- try Costco. Dealers sign up for the program and have to honor the (discounted) Costco price. I happened to get a better deal without it- but we bought my husband's Infinity that way and saved a huge chunk off sticker. It was easy and we'd do it again.
And now to modify....

Yeah, I did a fair share of shopping but unfortunately didn't look far enough out...I shopped 3 nearby dealers.

It was a time consuming task. Many do not have the patience for it. But, it pays off if you can talk yourself into waiting LOL

Well, next time remember, a nice 500 mile trip with the top off is not such a bad thing!

Keep in mind I'm also stuck in a bit of a pickle; my car was totaled a few weeks ago in an accident and I have a Camaro that doesn't run. I'm in a pretty desperate need of a vehicle.

Right now the Camaro is in the shop. Long story behind that but I had the car at one shop and they ruined my radiator while installing an a/c hose. They refused to work on the engine because it was modified, so that's all they'd do.

Well, I brought the car elsewhere and they told me I had a leaking radiator, low coolant level, and a piece off the radiator appeared to be glued back on in a bad attempt to fix it. To say the least, the first shop screwed up my radiator, costing me $700+. Now, I get to go back and fight with them over breaking my car, yet I have no actual proof they did it, even though I KNOW they did.

Good f***ing times. Hopefully they'll do the right thing and make it right, either by paying for it or some other sort of compensation. I just hope the owner's not the douche I think he probably is.

I get the honor of paying the most for my Jeep. Like a idiot, the amount I paid for my Sahara, I probably could've gotten a rubicon. I didn't know about tread lighty, I didn't shop around, Joined forums AFTER I brought it, went to an overpriced dealership, and worst of all.. I did no negotiating. I also brought the max care warranty at top price. The only positive things were getting a 1500 trade-in, and got the 730 n for the price of 430 n. Wish I had seen all this before my purchase. FML

I never knew about TL discount either. But, I have always done better without it. I love having MaxCare, but i went online and shopped for a better price. I found lifetime MaxCare for 1800 dollars through a Jeep dealer in I think it was Arizona or something. I put a little down and pay 144 per month for a year. Then it is paid for and in Florida, the MaxCare is transferable. If I ever decide to sell, it is a big bonus!

Well, as they say, "shit happens." You live and learn, and it just turns out it was a bit of a demoralizing lesson for you this time around. We've all been there.

This is a great thread!

After shopping around for a basic Rubicon with a tow package. I couldn't find any Rubicon withing 600 miles without many thousands of $$$ of added features I didn't want. There are 6 Call of Duty Rubicons in the area (Pesacola, FL/Mobile Al). At 44 I would feel silly driving around in one based on a game. I guess the local dealers are counting on young Military guys to shell out $48,000 to show their love of a video game.

I went with the back up plan of searching for a basic Sport with Towing Package, 3.73 gear and limited slip differential. These 3 items are what I wanted, everything else I would compromise on. Again no one had those 3 items together without $$$ of extras added which put the prices at Rubicon & Sahara level.

Only 2 dealers in the area had a Sahara model with those 3 items. One an unlimited Sarhara with soft top, leather heated seats (not needed) and automatic. The other a 2 door Sahara with cloth seats, 6 speed manual and hard top. Negotiated prices put them $4,000 apart with similar added features. Both were approximately the same percent below invoice and both were offering the same trade in value on my 2001 Cherokee Sport.

After much thought, I went with the unlimited. I figure the $4,000 extra would be worth it down the road if I ever sell it. Most people want automatics and 4 doors these days. So here are the numbers:

4/30/2012

2012 Jeep Wrangler Sahara (Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl Coat/ Saddle Leather seats)

MSRP
Base $30,745
Leather heated seats $900
Connectivity Group $385
Max Tow (with 3.73) $320
Automatic $1,125
Trac Loc Limited Slip $295
Remote Start $200

Total MSRP $34,870 (Dealer also did paint protection & Nitrogen in tires. Paid $0 in negotiation)

Invoice according to Edmunds $32,799

Edmunds True Market Value $32,471

End of Month offer from dealer $32,197
(before taxes, tag transfer & trade in, without joining a club or using corporate saving rate)...make sure to negotiate out fees or reduce agreed to amount by the fee amount.

First time Jeep owner here. Loving every minute of it.

Bought a 2012 Flame Red Sport Wrangler
S Package
3.21 ratio (If I had only known how much I would have wanted the 3.73 when I was purchasing. Ah well)
Connectivity
Power Convenience
Hard Top
6 speed manual
Sirius Satellite Radio

MSRP (All prices are approx) $28,500
Price: $25,250 (w/o ttl)

I walked in, went right to the Jeep I already knew that I wanted, sat down and the guy asks what would make this happen today. I asked for the invoice, and pointed to the Chrysler employee pricing. Done deal. Was actually pretty easy.

This was at Dupage Chrysler Jeep in Wheaton, IL.

I was all prepared to fight it out. They list these "discounts" on their website, but as usual, when we got there, they started running through them explaining why we don't qualify. I told him just to stop and get the invoice. He showed it to me and asked what number would it take to get it done, and I pointed at the employee pricing. They didn't even try to move me higher, which of course made me instantly feel that I started too high.

Really can't complain though. I am a terrible negotiator and getting the Jeep for that price is more than good enough.

I was over a barrel... my wife had waited for a gecko green Unlimited since Christmas. The bright colors were slow supposedly because of the 2011 Tsunami wiping out the paint pigment maker. Anyway - in one day - home with us the next night (Last Friday.). MSRP $31.6k - OTD $25.6k plus her '05 Dodge SRT-4 with 78k and seriously in need of attention. We were the 'first' - it had 3 miles on it. They added side rails and gas cap door Monday - part of deal. Here is my wife leaving for work early this AM. A friend added the clip art to the pix!

That's my '05 Liberty Sport 2WD on the other side. Went back to the dealer Monday - the siderails & cover were in - nearly traded my Liberty for an orange 2 dr. Love my Liberty - it's been my best-ever new car. High hopes for my wife's new Unlimited!

I didn't know that they gave Chrysler Employee Pricing to non employees. I qualify for the Chrysler Vendor discount, but that is no where near the price you got!
