No mention of mileage. I also see a pic of a rim that is not on the Jeep. The seats look rough. Being your first vehicle, I would have a trusted mechanic look it over really well. You do not want to over extend on a vehicle to then find it has all sorts of mechanicle problems.

yeah I talked to him it has 66,000 miles on the new engine and 10,000 on the new transmission, and it has all 4 aftermarket rims

Where did the engine come from? Rebuild? Pulled from a working car? How do you know it has 66k miles on the motor? How many miles on the body? Does the 4wd work? Seats look very rough.

Is that the hardtop harness hanging down in the cargo area. Is there a hardtop included?

I would say it's a good looking Jeep though, and has been used. But as you say, it's difficult to find one in your price range and if this one is sound mechanically then jump on it and good luck with it. If you know someone with a jeep close to this model then bring them along for a test drive and let them go through the boxes and make sure all works properly.

Idk if a hard top is included and yeah it's been really hard to find a 4 door in my price range and if everything checks out and it's mechanically sound I think I would have to jump on it and buy it, I've been torn between a truck and jeep and I love 4 door jeeps.

Looks rough. New engine and transmission on a 2008. For that price range you'd be better off IMO getting a clean tj. Not 4 doors obviously but this vehicle has seen better days for sure. A money pit bro.

i would really only want a 4 door if it's not I would look at getting an f150 I just like having extra room because I never know when I'm gonna need it, I think it's worth a shot to go look at it

To me the add is intentionally misleading. It reads the Jeep has a "brand new engine and transmission". With 66,000 miles on a rebuilt motor it is not even close to brand new, he might have an argument for the transmission. Like mentioned earlier he does not list the mileage (this always means it is a high mile vehicle, I don't even call ads without the mileage). Even if the motor and trans are good (and that is a risk) the rest of the Jeep has a crap load of hard miles and you will be replacing worn out parts constantly. IMO I would not even look at this turd for that price. If you buy this thing keep your wallet on the dash so you can access it easily for repairs.

Honestly, if your going to drop $13K for it, either get a brand new sport off the lot and suck up the payments with cash down or get a well taken of TJ and learn from it!

To add to this... 2008 with a new engine and trans? What did he do to the Jeep that he had to replace those in 6 years? If it was just that he wanted something new/more power, okay... but was it because of an accident? an issue off-roading? Could there be some unknown/untold problems related?

I don't know. I don't like this.

VERY good call. Seriously, you did the right thing. Not trying to put you down in any way -- I've been there for sure. But if you only have 13k to spend, you simply can't afford a 4-door Wrangler. They don't go back far enough to have come down to that price unless they are like this one -- and that is NOT a $13,000 Jeep. It's probably a $20,000+ Jeep over the first year or two of ownership.

A $13,000 TJ could be a reasonably nice Jeep -- something with 80,000 miles, maybe 10-12 YO. But not a 2007+ Unlimited.

Good luck in your search.

You would be better off spending the extra $2000-3000 on a factory built vehicle than one with over 100k miles that looks like it has been through hell honestly.
