What do you keep in the rear storage compartment?

Just curious what is most commonly kept back there by you guys...

At this point for me is a small pencil bag with some minor tools, flashlight, and a small gun 'safe' that's tethered to the Jeep via a steel cable.

Amongst other tools, I keep a long 1/2" breaker bar and various deepwell sockets for loosening lugnuts. Also a good tire repair kit (patches and plugs). Flares, gloves.

Do you guys actually put the torx bolts back in the bottom of door hinges? Once I took mine out I never put them back in. I figure the only reason to worry is if I roll it over with the doors on, and if that happens I have bigger problems to worry about.

Even if they aren't going to come off completely, it seems like they would still bounce around in the hinges more than normal. You're probably right and I doubt it's going to hurt anything, but it only takes a minute.

Also a T30 torx to remove the softtop bolts (at least on a 2013). I also have the Jeep canvas folio that came with it. I put it in here because it doesn't fit in the glovebox.

pliers, duct tape, electrical tape, screwdrivers, torx set, 1/2" drive ratchet , wheel lock key (flashlight & extinguisher on roll bars) bungee cords, pressure gage, hat, gloves, rags & a roll of toilet paper.

straps & shovel go in the back if I am going anywhere that could be potentially problematic

Jumper cables and straps for the Thule surf rack. From the previous post--I put the door torx bolts my Jeep Only stoarge drawer in the garage--has the torx tools, auxillary mirrors for doorless, and the softtop door surrounds.

I tote a lot of tools and exc. in a bag in the back, have a bag box that I keep all fluids, rags, and such in. The only thing I put in that little cubby hole is my air hose and the different things for my OBA.

Recovery strap, jumper cables, flares, flashflight, breaker bar with socket to fit my lugs, gloves, ratchet straps, and a mini 2x4 to raise and stabilize jack if need be. And I think I shall add a few more items based on other suggestions here. Nice post.

Am I missing something??....how can you fit all that stuff in the storage tray above the jack....I have a new 2013 JKU....is there some other place to store stuff I haven't found yet? All I can fit in the tray is a recovery strap, couple of rags, bottle of water, small socket set and that about fills it up.

Lots of room in my 07 JK storage area. With the exception of recovery strap, nothing on my list takes up that much space. As long as its organized, I can get a lot in there. I'll snap a pic in the next day or two.
