What do you think about this intake??

Hey guys, I was thinking about getting a new cold air-intake or whether one is even worth getting. Im still new to all this mind you...and one of the guys at the local 4wheelparts is suggesting that I get the Volton Cold air Intake..its around $350 though! Does anyone have it, or heard anything about it? If not do you guys have any suggestions, like what you did? Thanks!

Suggestions? Skip the intake. Pretty much worthless on the JKs IMO.

I ran a AirRaid CAI....dumped it after 3 months and went with a Snorkel with drop-in AFe filter.

The AirRaid CAI system I found suck in more hot engine heat then cold air. The AirRaid made my 3.8 very boggy on trail runs and even in rush hour traffic on hot summer days. The worst part it made the engine very susceptible to hydrolocking even with a pre-filter. I found no real gains in power and a slight MPG gain maybe 0.5MPG.

The only thing I liked about the CAI was the throaty Growl. If you want a truer CAI system get a snorkel and run a AFe/K&N drop-in filter.

Ok, I'll be skipping the CAI then... I could put the money towards new sway bars or coil springs. Or heck save up for a RIPP supercharger haha... As for the snorkel I wouldn't get much use out of it here in Tucson, unless this place starts flooding!

Skip the intake. CAI is kind of useless after the engine gets to operating temperature.
