As much as I love the 6 speed I hate it.
Clutch sucks/high engagement/short first gear.

But I will have it no other way

Seriously, the headlights are THIS bad? Everyone complains about them. It's making me want to go ahead and order a headlight kit when I order my Jeep.

Yes the stock ones aren't that great. Not sure why many pay outrageous prices for lights that blind others though. A simple upgrade to Phillips 80 Xtremes and they are just fine.

Only thing I hate is the toys for my Jeep are expensive not to mention I can't go to the trails more often.

I'm sure someone mentioned this or something along these lines... but what I dislike about my jeep,.is every time I buy something for her. Something new and prettier comes along that I want... its killing my wallet.

That sounds like there is something wrong. I got 15 on the first tank and over 17 on every one since and its almost all city driving. I figure I could get another one or two if I could keep my foot off the gas a bit.

What I don't really like is the headlights and the wiper motor. Just put the hard top back on for the first time since the drive home from the dealer and my god that thing is huge. The rear seat headrests came off the day I got home from the dealer. Wish the rear seat was a bit easier to get around the subwoofer.

I'd say the headrests jabbing into the back of my skull would be my biggest complaint. Minor complaint is it is a little hard to get the seat up to get rear seat access for the kids, no big deal but wish they could come up with an easier method. Oh and the voice command thing seems completely useless. I haven't found any situation where it comes in handy. Would i push the button, say "radio" or "next track" or just push the dang button on the back of the s/w. I don't see the purpose of the voice command but I will keep searching

I wish the clutch had a more natural feel
I wish the throttle didn't have a quarter-inch dead spot then suddenly become touchy when it responds
I wish the transmission didn't make a CLUNK when shifting into second gear
I wish it didn't have all the vibrations and whistles

Had my 12' JKU about a week and a half now. I get the same feeling in it as my vette when i drive it, a smile on my face. Quick list of the bads(dont really bother me regardless) is as follows,

-headlights blow. I find myself driving with the factory fog lights on, it helps.

-rear window visability is a joke but the side view mirrors are great!

-clutch grabs stupid high but you get used to it

Honestly other then that I have no complaints. Going to add some auxillary lights to it and a small lift to level out the factory rake and just enjoy the crap out of it.

This vehicle falls in the "TOY" category. The best part is the wife didnt realize this when we bought it.......sucker!

My 2012 Jk is my first Jeep without a clutch. so far the new 5 spd auto is good. I must admit, I had a hard time going with the auto... but so far I have been pleased. (Actually, it is the "tip-tronic" trans that comes in the Hemi pickups). I drove both before purchase, and I prefered the automatic. I agree, the new clutch sucks.

I love my 12 JKU rubi...visibility while backing up is poor.obstructions and weak lighting. I need to add aux back up lighting and the locpick.

Life long jeep owner. They all have minor problems but the positives far outway the negatives. You actually admitted you have a MINI!!!

Jeep vending machine?

I really can't complain. Mine is approx 2 - 3 days away from landing at the dealer.

Sounds like I will be replacing the headlight bulbs though! Radical first "mod"

I get the "clunk" also if my shift into 2nd is not smooth, or I drive over uneven road.
My Tj also did the same. I believe it's just the front suspension moving around on the ball joints. We have no grease zerks, if I/we could grease Those puppy's somehow-it would quiet them up.
I always considered it normal so.....

I've read a lot on that dead spot, ECU does some strange things on the jeep I have not felt that dead spot but see it mentioned on forums a lot.

I found this link to be very interesting-

IMO that new 5 speed auto is the biggest improvement. I have not driven a 12 but I do see the same complaints since the tranny is the same.
Until I lose my left leg or can't drive a manual-- I won't have it no other way--especially in my jeep
Glad you like it

Its horribly underpowered, and it burns oil worse than a 30 year old Ford. Thats why its being traded in for a DD.

I have an 06 TJ

M'sPG is low - soft top windows crack in cold weather - half door uppers cause problems at toll booths and drive through windows - my cd player stopped working two years ago. Now about 4 years after adding a 2 inch lift i'm seeing some unusual wear in things like sway bar links and lower control arm bushings. Adding JKS sway bar disconnects and arm's this week though That said, I do like the customability and tinkering that goes into owning a jeep. If I get bored with her look i can adjust it.
