What effect do mods have on resale? need input and encouragement

This was not intended to annoy anyone, but i feel it might.

Anyways, I've been DYING to do some mods like lifting is 2-3", slapping on 35s, bumpers, etc. but what will that do to the price when I go to sell it?

The reason I ask is because with my JKU being a 2011, I don't have the Pentastar (Nbd, but more power would be nice), Theres talk of a diesel in 2 years, and I kind of just plan on upgrading 2 years from now. And with this about to be fully paid off by the end of this year, I can do what I want. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE my jeep. But do I wait and then go crazy on my next one? Ive got 9 months driving it everyday before I transfer to a University and wont be driving much as i'm still in college, but at the same time i've been working 40+ hour weeks since Junior year in high school and i deserve to treat myself.

What to do what to do.

I put 3K into my 2door after 15 months of owning it I traded it in on a 4door and got more than I paid for it but if you add the amount I put into it to the total cost I lost about 500. So I would say I did better moding it then doing the trade.

Whatever you do to your Jeep isn't going to change the KBB value of it, and nobody but you cares how much money you've dumped into it. Best thing I can offer is keep all your stock parts, so if you do trade it you can put all of your goodies on the new one. Or sell them if they won't fit..

Yeah unless it's a selectable option on KBB such as you added leather seats you will lose money on it most likey.

X2 on keeping your stock parts. Dealers / buyers in a lot of cases prefer un modded jeeps.

They feel like it's been better taken care of and stayed on road.
