What front bumper should i get for my jk?

I know there are may threads about this, but every case is different. This is the second stock bumper I've gone through from someone hitting me when i wasn't around and I'm not gonna put out another 400 bucks for a cheap piece of plastic again. So I've decided to look for a strong, durable bumper.

I do not do any extreme offloading. Ill drive through a nice dirt trail and i hope to one day do some pretty good mudding and maybe desert driving, but hardcore rock crawling is not on the agenda for my Daily Driver jeep. My price cap is around 700, 800 dollars, the so 1200 dollar ARB bumper is out. I do not plan on getting a winch because it is 300 dollars i don't have to spend. I'd prefer to stay away from a bull bar but it doesn't really matter to me.

I HATE STUBBY BUMPERS.

The bumper i want is mostly cosmetic, but I want something of good quality. Im not asking for your guys opinion on how it looks, I'm looking to see which bumper is the best quality for the right price from your experience.

Some of the ones i really like so far are the
1. Warn Elite Full Width bumper
2. LoD Mid-Width or Full-Width bumper
3. JCR Mid-Width full sunk bumper
4. SmittyBuilt XRC Full-Width bumper
5. Expedition 1 Full-width bumper (I can't find a price for it on the website)

Your opinions are highly valued, thanks guys!

Get the ACE Midwidth: ACE JK Mid Width Bumper (Bumper Only) and still have money left over for the winch.

It's either the hybrid which I think can be turned into a mid/full width or a JCR stubby for me.
Although I see Chim paid like $300 for line-x on his JCR

Im quite a fan of the Warn, my only qualm is i hear it doesn't have a winch delete feature, so i wonder if that is going to look ridiculous if i install it without a winch

Get the rampage recovery bumper. Full width and looks great with OEM fenders. Can drive through a building, the thing is a tank. Very reasonably priced. Great fit without the need to move the vacuum pump.

As of now, they don't offer a full width bumper, just the stubby and mid-width.

Rugged Ridge makes an affordable Aluminum modular bumper. The base is a stubby but you can bolt ends on it and make it full width. If you start rock crawling you just unbolt the ends and you're all set. Cheap enough to afford a winch too Looks like this...

I know a guy who has the rugged ridge bumpers and he said after a while they started to rust. Yikes. Do you know of any explanation?

Does Aluminum rust?

The old ones are steel.

Umm... they are metal? You can powder coat all you want, when the rocks start to hit it, it is going to chip, then rust.

Best is to get a can of matching spray and touch it up often.

I really like my full width LOD. In appearance it is similar to a friend's Rugged Ridge full width that he likes because of the gear storage features in the end caps. I bought the LOD partially because they welded on Roadmaster brackets for me to use the Jeep as a toad behind my RV at no extra charge. The quality and workmanship is good and the price (undiscounted) is in your range.

I've posted this a couple of times, but it's worth!

The Warn Elite for budget, and the AEV for hands down the best!

Here are some more details from our site: http://www.nwjeep.com/american-exped...--exterior.htm

I am quite a fan of the LoD. Any installation issues? I have an 09 jk and I hear some years of the jk don't exactly fit right and take some superfluous citing to fit the bumper in

I had 4WheelDrive Hardware install my LOD since it was 93 lbs and I was feeling lazy. They did say they had to do some shimming to it a little but since they didn't charge me extra I don't remember the details. Sorry. Here is a photo. It has the optional skid plate. The winch is a Smittybuilt XRC8.

Or just go for the scratched up and rusty look.

One of these days I will get around to touching things up.
