What is a "Temp Control Sensor" on a 2013 Auto trans?

Dealer replaced a "Temp Control Sensor" on or around the tranny on my wife's 2013 Wrangler with a auto trans.
I asked to see the part and they say it was shipped back to Chrysler already.
The tech working on it went home already.
No one else there could explain what it does for the trans.
I tried to look it up every which way I could think of on line to see what it looks like and what it does.
Any advice or pictures of this part and or explanation, man, that would be GREAT! Thank you!

Not sure about the Chrysler version but my 2005 Chevy pickup has one in the tranny. Until the fluid reaches a certain temp, the transmission will not shift into overdrive. May also cause the HOT OIL message to display if the transmission fluid gets too hot.

LOL!!!! That sound is on one of our 2013's, simply pulley issue.
And no....that sound is not even close.
Our's is a 100% tranny fluid "full on whistle" sound.....But thank you any how.

I have the same noise on my 2013 JKU Rubicon.
Not even worried about that pulley noise, I know that will get fixed 100% one way or another, sooner or later.
My wife's 2013 2 door has the tranny fluid whistle problem.

It might be the part that Chrysler added to the JK to fix the problem with spontaneous transmission fires in earlier JK's...wild guess.

Sorry to jump in on this but what is "tranny whistle problem"? I have a '13 that has a low pitch whistle (almost sounds like a wooden wind instrument) that lasts about a second or two upon acceleration and oddly upon stopping (both occur in 5-10 mph zone).
