What is the backspacing on stock wheels?

Hey all

Just got my 07 X last week. I've been reading about lots of stuff on here, and am so glad to have this wealth of knowledge to learn from.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered, but I cannot find it in a search so i'll ask here.

I've got 18" wheels, with 255/70/18's. I really like the tires, and would like to keep them. I also want them to be a bit further out (less backspacing) and am looking at new wheels, so I need to know what the current backspacing is, I know I could just take the wheel off and measure it, but where i'm living now it's a pain in the ass to do mechanical stuff.

I'd like to have the wheels stick out 1 or 2 inches more than they do now, and instead of wheel spacers figured i'd just get some black rims. It looks like they're mostly 4.5 or 5 backspaced, so if I can figure out what the current backspacing is that will tell me how much width i'll gain.

Anyone know 'stock' 18" wheel backspacing?

Pretty sure bs on JK stockers is 6.25"..... someone else will verify or deny that soon, I'm sure.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Just by eyeballing it I figured it was in that range. So I should be able to extend the wheels outward how i'd like just by getting some new rims. Thanks!

Less backspace will push the wheels out and allow for wider tires.
