What is this?

We picked up our '14 Unlimited Rubicon a week ago. We owned a Grand Cherokee until now. This is our first Wrangler.

Yesterday my wife sat in the back seat for the first time, just to check it for comfort. Afterward, she asked what this little downward curved thing is in the middle of the back end of the console above the cup holders.

Anybody know??

That is the light for the illuminated rear cup holders. Don't be surprised when your bottle of Mountain Dew looks radioactive in the front ones at night Enjoy your 14. I celebrate my 3 week aniversary tomorrow.

I thought that was a cool feature on my '13. My 2009 Patriot had regular cupholders. Wifey's 2010 Patriot has illuminated cup holders and I though that was a cool feature. Now my '13 JK has them.

It just enough illumination for when both of you are in the back seat in the garage trying to get away from the kids.

This is a good one! I've got to show it to our 20 year old granddaughter who lives with us. She'll turn quite red, I'm sure. Doesn't think a couple in their 70's still have a life.

To each of you who replied, thanks for solving the mystery.

A good friend of mine has a 2012 and I always joke with her about my 2013 being so much better than hers, she asked me why I simply pointed to the lights in the cupholders. It was worth a good laugh!

Be forewarned: There is absolutely NO bottom support on the middle of the back seat. This could cause severe seat sag, and possible personal injury if engaging in strenuous physical activity.

Don't ask how I know!

Fold the seat down. Be forewarned, it's very difficult to remove footprints from the INSIDE of the softtop, and high-heel shoes risk putting holes in the top. The Premium Top may be more durable....
