What is this??

I recently purchased a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited. The previous owner had some aftermarket items installed on it. One of which is an alarm system.

Underneath the steering column there is a knob installed. I have no idea what it does.

Any ideas?

Is it wired to anything?
I don't recognize the logo.

It looks like a rheostat or potentiometer. If so, it could be used for anything from a blower to a light to a fast-idle control...
Maybe a sensitivity level control for the alarm?

That looks like a remote amp gain from Memphis audio. I had one in my old truck. Not Memphis but same thing. The amp is most likely gone but that is what it was.

Naah. That's the auto-destruct switch. If you turn it and say "Picard Destruct Sequence Alpha 1 you've got about sixty seconds to abandon ship.

It's a Menphis speaker product just get online they most likely had subs in there and probally took them out if not it's what your can turn up and make the subs hit harder turning it all the way down will turn them off if they are still in there

Thanks everyone for the feedback. It has the stock stereo with the stock subwoofer. I wonder if it works with the stock stereo. Hmmmm.

If the aftermarket boombox is gone, then you have a high-quality potentiometer at your disposal.
Start dreaming up a use for it.
