Oh man gas stations and grocery store parking lots are where I meet most of the random Jeep owners. Also at red lights when my doors are off and someone pulls next to me! Btw I love your Jeep in the profile pic! Awesome ride!

That you wave at other Wrangler drivers...I do the wave while on the bike and also driving the work truck to fellow workers and cops. I have to wave to someone no matter what vehicle I drive all day , every day.

Haha!! So true!! I saw about a dozen jeeps today and still waved at most of them...even though I was driving a friends Honda.

Speaking of unexplained noises. My brakes are starting to grind. But only when I'm driving. When I put them on, the grinding stops.

That you could spend THOUSANDS of dollars on freaking headlights! I have flashlights that are brighter than the headlights on my 2013 JK.

Allow me to recommend a little search, then. Try Ottostep, they are in Oregon and probably the right fit for your dog. It is for mine, I also added a KoolK9 and a ventilator for her comfort (in in sunny Southern France...)

Oh - no adds, of course, just "tips" or ideas from a concerned dog friend driving a JKU. The "U" is for the Dog !

That I would one day start buying stickers to put on my Jeep ? This never happened with my previous cars - but the again, they were just "cars"

That you would actually get a cup of coffee and read the entire 12 pages of this Laugh like crazy because you have done just about all of it before or know you will do it now!

That your non Jeep friends will totally rag you about its a Jeep thing and the Jeep wave but always want to borrow your Jeep.

That a cam shaft sensor is a keep in the tool box part for a TJ.

And that you will totally love it when you catch your wife eyeing you from her car when you both leave for work at the same time!!

bird crap coming in the door at 65 mph when the doors are off really hurts when it hits your shoulder.

oh, and the windshield thing - 5 months, 3 cracks. d'oh!

Funny you mentioned windows. My first Jeep, 1995, I had virtually no problems with it. After six months of my '13 I had to get a crack filled. I read that the windows are thinner. Anybody else?

I second this all the way! I use to give my GF crap all the time for driving like a grandma. Now I'm the one barely pushing the speed limit in hopes I get to stay in my jeep a little bit longer before reaching my destination.

Windshields, weird noises,

Bahahaha! All of these, but definitely this ^^^

I'm on my 4th windshield on my 09 that I've had almost exactly two years. Fortunately I had the wisdom to buy the special warranty that comes with free windshield replacement when I bought it. I passed on the regular warranty because I knew I could fix any of the regular problems myself, but I don't happen to have a windshield dispenser at home... so yeah. Best money I've ever spent. Warranty has paid for itself already!

Oh and I'm surprised how inconvenient the soft top is. My first Wrangler had a hard top. It was a '93 and the top was all one piece that took 4-5 people to remove. I though the soft top would be a dream. NOT! Granted, mine was pretty trashed by the previous owners, but the zippers are a battle, its a pain to clean, and putting it back up in a hurry if it rains? Forget about it. Bikini tops are way more my style.

I got my'04 TJ sport three weeks ago. In that short time, I have come up with three:

1) The first time I took the top and doors off and drove off down the road I just smiled. Nobody told me there was ANY vehicle aside from my old Harley that could actually make me smile. I tried to explain this phenomenon to my wife but she doesn't get it. I think she'll just use it as further evidence when she finally tries to convince the men in the white coats to come and get me.

2) Nobody told me that I would read the Quadratec and JCWhitney catalogs front to back, cover to cover like a book. And memorize it.

3) Nobody told me that I was going to constantly feel like I was being tail-gated. The rear bumper is so close behind you that even when other cars are a reasonable distance back, the rear view mirror makes it look like they are right on you.

... that the most useless thing in the Jeep with the top down is the "sun visor"

... that you can't buy another vehicle without comparing it back to 'my old Jeep'

... that it is possible to go to work AND work on your tan at the same time

... that you will become fixated on the weather... and if a storm is coming in... and if you have to run outside and put that top back up...

... the feeling of sitting on wet seats the first time your weather forecast is a little off

... that there are drain plugs under the carpets

... that you will have more hair clips and scrunchies and whatever other hair taming methods the ladies use in your vehicle than they do at home

... that the A/C can be your best friend with the top down in rush hour traffic

... that the heater can be your best friend with the top down in early spring

... that snow banks have never looked so inviting

That once you have a Jeep, you will never forget it! We have 4 Jeeps in our fam, so if we go somewhere fun ie: Moab, 4x4 show, Jeep club meet-up's, parades, everyone drives their own Jeep. We have a pre-made convoy!
That you should send your son to school so he can learn to work on all your Jeeps. (Make sure the school specializes in Jeeps, lol) Then send him to work at a dealer so you can get the "family discount" on all parts.
That your youngest son who has NO interest in vehicles would start talking about the noises in his YJ and asking if it's ok. (He couldn't even "hear" the engine to find when to shift, when we were teaching him how to drive a stick. Thought we were all making it up.)
That it's worth the expense to have Comprehensive on your auto insurance because then your windshield will only cost 50.00.
That you will need to rent a storage unit for all the sets of tires and rear-ends and axles you will have for "just in case".
That I would put a "clear-bra" on my TJ because I didn't want all the rock chips.
That every time I get in my Jeep, I find my heart lifting and the birds sing a little sweeter, and the weather is just a little sunnier/snowier and my life is just a little better!!!

That after "upgrading" from my '01 Sahara to just about every brand made in Europe I'd be back to a '12 Rubi because my Jeep was the only one I ever missed!

And that, after owning way too many cars, I'd be seriously considering owning 2 of the same kind - one to keep "relatively" stock for a DD and one dedicated to being a modding playground!

Angry ...that the Sahara Gas Pedal Was Hollow Plastic!

Or that it would break off two inches above the pedal at the worst possible moment (when passing)! Or that nobody--Quadratic, 4 Wheel Parts, or any of the local dealerships--have the part in stock! Or that nobody makes a replacement out of metal.

That if you leave the rock chips you won't get more.

I decided to have the latest windshield rock smack fixed with epoxy (it was a doozy) and the other chip (that isn't spreading- yet) left alone. Since I left these two blotches on my windshield I haven't had a single new rock encounter. I am sure that if I replace the windshield it will be smacked and cracked in days.
