Done it many times at restaurants, malls, stores, anywhere. See some people by it, just go out and start walking in circles pulling hair out, hand motions towards where the doors should be, pretend to go on your phone, I'm a great actor and a huge asshole.

It's All about public humiliation. There is no greater joy in life then humiliating someone in public.

Just

Love my JK, but most of this thread is dead on. It is amazing the transformation you go through when you become a jeep owner.

1. The rocks/windshield hell. I'm on windshield #2 and now have two different long cracks (one of which I got this morning WTH?) :-(
2. The Wave. I didn't understand why people were waving at me until I came to this site. Mind blown...
3. That so many people in my area had Wranglers. I live in Southeast MI and work right next to Chrysler Headquarters. I have literally played "Count the Wranglers" while driving home on many occassions. The most I counted one day was 13. Good lord lolololol

Talking

Wife just drove my JK for the first time, she called and asked why some guy in another Jeep was waving at her... I told her because she is hot.

Heh... When we were in South Carolina (Mount Pleasant), I counted 12 jeeps in about a twenty minute span! That is some SERIUOS jeep country!

You can work on it your self. If something fails it relatively cheap. Unlike my AMG. Plenty of jeeps here it KY and back home in St. Augustine beach.

For sure! I took the family to myrtle beach in August and every day we had a 10 jeep sighting average every day! Unfortunately it's a very (18 hour) long drive from chicago to myrtle and with 3 kids and wife in tow we had to take the conversion van. Will get there in the jeep eventually!

OK ...its my wife's jeep. After 3 Mercedes Benz, Land Rover, Audi's and countless other cars she's in a jeep. But this is what I have found:
The wave... took my wife a while to realize I was lying>>>told her the babes just like me and it happens all the time
The windshield ... are you kidding me? I bought stock in Windex
Slow drive...I'm like a diff person in that for some reason I'm laid back. Get back into the Escalade and drive like I stole it

That I would ever give up 25 years of riding and trade 2 wheels for 4 wheels on the weekend... and not look back. I'm hooked.

Red face

That a lot of heads would turn and we'd get caught in long conversations ALL the time about the JK. We once had a guy follow us down a couple of side roads so he could pull up beside us while we ate our lunch and have a lengthy conversation about Jeeps in general.

Also, everyone likes to be funny and ask, "So what problems do you have with it?"/"How many times have you broken down?" etc. I believe this isn't the case in the US, but here at least, a lot of people associate Jeep with a reputation for being extremely unreliable and breaking down frequently. These are usually the same people who repeat the jokes:

Just Expect Every Problem / Just Empty Every Pocket.

(Actually, that second one is true, but not because she breaks down: just because I keep wanting to buy her stuff!)

I never thought I would have to visit an audio specialist and have an Alpine system installed just to get good tunes while going down the road with the top down.

No one told me that the taste of mud is quite terrible and that I would find out what it would taste like after spending 3 hours pressure washing the under carriage hahah. Haven't been back off road in 2 weeks since it took so long to get clean hah, its about that time to get it dirty again!

1. That it would not only cost me money, but save some too. I haven't had one single speeding ticket since I bought it. Suddenly, I'm just not in a hurry anymore.

2. I'm in my 50's. It's great to have a Wrangler, because I can actually work on it myself. It's been awhile.

3. That I can make it stop raining by pulling over and putting the top up- EVERY TIME.

Would you care to expand on this? I'm thinking of buying a bike before I get a Jeep. I'd love to hear your insight. Maybe PM me so I don't jack this thread? THANKS!!!

That I would stay up until 1am reading this thread because it's my first Jeep and I'm in love and want to know everything there is to know about it.
That I would check my email 3 times a day looking for a tracking number (used to check it once a week)

That, on a Saturday, I would get up to go to work like I'm getting up to go hunting or wakeboarding (and I'm salary). Our JKU is my wife's daily driver but it's all mine on the weekends.

At 5am the alarm goes off - eyes pop wide open, shower up, occasionally glancing at the Jeep in the driveway while making coffee. Top & doors come off, 41 miles of 55mph winding country roads, sun coming up, Coffe House on Sirius, little chill in the air being knocked down by heated leather & the vents aimed at my hands. I arrive to work like I've had a week off, everyone else is grumpy. The building could be on fire and I'd still be all smiley and peaceful. I never thought a drive to work could be like that!

A few things come to mind, and I completely agree with majority of these comments:

-Jeeps are addictive, and you will become obsessed with mods.
-The front windshield is a magnet for Bugs.
-People will complain about getting in and out of it...minus you.
-The Jeep wave does exist! You will feel like an a** every time you miss a wave.
-Your Jeep will continue to want to grow bigger!
-You will hate the ride, but always choose the vehicle over your second car...
-Your significant other will become jealous of your Jeep within the first week of owning it.
-You will constantly look for other jeeps and compare it to yours.
-You will grow a hate for those who do not modify their jeep.
-I slowed down significantly in the jeep, and enjoy taking in the scenery.
